| Referee: Andy Bentham (Leigh). One previous Oxford match as a fairly late replacement:
31/05/2015 - Oxford 20 All Golds 12 (sinbinned Adam Withington, penalties 9-5 in favour).
Halfdan said afterwards that although puzzled by the sinbin he thought the ref had a good game and he would be happy to see him again. Let's see how that works out.
I suggested before the game that he might be Phil Bentham's brother, but that's not right. I was misled by an amusing post from last season's Four Nations, suggesting that Phi Bentham's brother could be video ref for a match to get some revenge on the cheating Australians.
The guy who set me right on that point said that he thought the All Golds match was this Bentham's first at this level, and added that he had played for Golborne Parkside (same team as the ref for our last two games) and is into martial arts.
Reserve: David Outen (Warrington)
Was reserve ref for the last game of last season, at home to Hemel.
Touch Judge: Jason Page (Wigan)
Third time we've seen hime this season, last one being the game at Oldham.
Touch Judge: Paul Cromer (Widnes)
Third time we've seen hime this season, last one being the home game against South Wales. Might have been reserve referee in that one, as has only stepped up to touch judge at League 1 level in the last couple of months. Aged 22 and has been an official for 12 years! He says that he played but wasn't very good, so turned to officiating.
Match Commissioner: Barry Lilley
Was match commissioner at the Challenge Cup Final last season. Also Oxford's home game with North Wales this season.
