That's fxxed things up. If Gale isn't back for round 1 were massively short in the halves. Can we de-register Walker for the season and free up some cap to bring in last min recruits?

Yes I believe we can apply for cap exemption. Cas did it the other season. We should certainly do it. It would be silly not to. That’s a huge huge blow losing Walker. It’ll take some coming back from being out best part of two seasons.

A real blow this especially Walker's injury.

Who plays 6 if myler plays fullback assuming Mclelland plays 7 until gale is back.

Sure Agar mentioned they have been giving a Broadbent a go at full back in training, so he may offer some cover. Really tough news ahead of the season, but the silver lining is that now McLelland should get his chance. Let's hope he is ready to take it.

Was just about to ask whether broadbent could do a job, either at FB or on the wing with ash dropping back. Haven't seen enough to judge how close or far off he is

Dreadful news for Walker, genuinely gutted for him, he’s got bags of talent, thankfully he’s got time in his side but doesn’t sound good if the surgery has failed.

What about Handley to FB, Luke Briscoe (or even Tindall/hall) to the wing,
Myler and Mclelland in the halves until Gale gets back.

Although I'd also heard McClelland is injured. Lui I think got this injury a week or 2 ago as I hear.

was harsh but poss true just got rid of 3 sicknotes , not going to score many with nclelland in and handley at fb and certainly will give plenty away , might not got hammered with the new pack but bottom half beckons while any of lui, gale, myler out

I remember some posters years ago saying the same about McGuire.

It's a shame to lose Walker for so long. Myler to fullback, which in reality is no change from the end of last season.

Losing Lui give Mclenlland the chance many on here think he needs. Again a silver lining. Having Myler at FB at the same time means we have a third ball player, which could help out. I'd keep Myler at FB even if Gale is out to start with. We have options in Smith or Sutcliffe of a junior in there, rather than sorry everyone around for a cooler or games
