| Looks like they're finished, we voted to keep them apparently.
Im torn on this, im all for expansion however it has to be built on solid foundations which it seems wasn’t there.

| It seems like Argylle was a bit of a chancer in the end, and if there's no viable plan in place then you can see why they've been knocked back.
I do think, it's time we as a game had a genuine plan in place with regards to expansion, as opposed to just sitting back and hoping for the best. Toronto were managed shambolically, but they get absolutely no help from the governing body, or any of the clubs. In fact, they were made to bend over backwards at every turn. The game is never going to grow if we don't all work together to develop it.
Hopefully, a non-heartland club takes their place.

| I’d have London back in personally, if we are going to have relegation make them exempt for 3 years, give them some exemptions from the cap and lets try as a sport to help rather than hinder them.

| Agree with giving London a proper shot. Conflicted on Toronto but ultimately for the majority of clubs the risk outweighed the reward.

| Expansion is a good idea, if it means more players (and fans?), not sure Toronto bring this.
Keep the Bye for 2021, promote the top eligible team from the championship for 2022 and that allows everyone to recover as well as they can from Covid restrictions,

That’s a great call imo. We need expansion out of the heartlands for the greater good of the game. Relegation should be scrapped permanently. I’d look at London and York. However I’d start giving ultimatums to likes of Wakey to get their house in order too though. Their ground is a disgrace.

What "help" should they have received? They set the conditions of their promotion with empty promises the game owes/owed them nothing.
The new potential owner was trying it on as well he couldnt even provide proof of funding.

We need to fully support the existing clubs in the heartlands of RL. Clubs with a rich history. Stop the pipe dreams....

| Embarrassed the vote went the way it did. But not surprised.
Glad Leeds voted in favour along with Catalan and Saints. They see the bigger picture and what the game was trying to achieve. Unfortunately at this moment in time I feel very disheartened with the game.
Perhaps that will change. But the game just becomes more and more of a minority sport for local people.
I just wanted more.

The thing is though, however much I want expansion Toronto being in our domestic league got as many people from outside the game thinking WTF as much as seeing it as a positive.
Its only a bigger picture if it’s actually viable

| We have to start with something that is practical. In the same country would be good, but France is the next best option so we can develop the local infrastructure and therefore national team.
It would be great to be in North America, but it would have to be as a stand alone competition so would need at least 6-8 teams there to make it work. Then you can work on the quality of the competition.
We have to think very carefully about where we grow, it must be sustainable or we are ing in the wind. Again.

| Candidly what do we expect. The three teams who voted for them , Leeds ,Saints, Catalans always see the positive side of the game and they was one Abstention In Warrington. Looking at the remaining teams, no doubt led by Wigan teams who always put themselves first, along with their bank balance. I never agreed with Canada, 3,000 miles for a game of rugby is a long way, but something has to be done to expand the game, without expansion we are totally reliable on Sky TV for their sponsorship money. Teams like Wakefield, Cas, Salford will never vote for change, they are 100% reliant on Sky Money. A serious rethink is needed, change the system, and see what happens.
We need one more team at least , 12 team competition, 22 games per season. No relegation for 5 years. Within this time, clubs have to develop their grounds , their academy, if they don’t meet the requirement they lose their super league status. No ifs or buts etc. Simply they are relegated down a division. Extend the game in the UK France and Ireland. There is more than enough scope to develop the game in France Ireland and UK, it just needs someone who can market the game, advertise the game. Big shake up is needed, no ifs or buts, set the rules and apply them.

Don't make us out to be Saint's. Believe me, Hetherington and Co will have seen something on it for us to have voted in Torronto's favour.

| Can't just erect a team in a far out location, fill it with super league and NRL players and expect it to magically 'grow the game.' Get some grassroots going over there, and maybe a professional club will naturally arrive after 20 years.
Maybe they should look inward, rather than always looking outward or trying the next quick fix

We’ve been looking inward for far far too long. Likes of Wakefield Cas Huddersfield have had long enough to move forward and it’s not happening. Salford have made great strides on the pitch but are very poorly supported which is a real shame. Wigan are extremely self centred which never change

| There just isn't the interest outside of the m62, the player pool is too shallow.
It's been over 10 years since licensing was introduced and nothing has changed. Cas and Wakey play in awful stadiums, no one turns up to watch giants or Salford even when they have a decent team.
If we continue to replace one mining town with another one each season nothing will change. We'll always be a minority game looked down upon.
How does an expansion stick? No idea really. 5 year exemption? Salary cap larger? Draft system?

| It is a problem that Super league clubs can vote out other Super league clubs, self interest voting is not good for the game as a whole, even if on this occasion it may have been for the best. I am concerned that if Toronto were getting no TV money then each club would have to give up a part of their share to allow a 12th team in Super League, whoever that may be.
The clubs have too much power, and with no internationals this year the RFL won't have the sources money it needs to spend on developing young players. Why not make an academy team (at least 1 per team) a minimum requirement of Super League, and use part of the TV money to fund a regional academy in the parts Super League doesn't currently reach. Expansion needs to start at the bottom, junior leagues, regional amateur leagues, schools. It looks like "Super League" is planning to try and keep all the money from the next TV deal, another nail in the coffin for the slow death of pre RL in this country.

No it's always outward. 'Screw featherstone and leigh, let's get a team in tokyo.'
If heartland clubs arent thriving, how is the game going to support a startup team erected in a foreign land.

| Disagree totally. How long have the heartland clubs had to flourish?? Decades... and look where we are... no further forwards. We need strong foundations from the heartlands of course we do, but it’s needs to be alongside growing the game outside that to bring wider interest into the game which in turn wil generate increased revenue for clubs therefore benefit everyone and we’ll have a much greater game. The game really needs to get their heads together to find a way to get bigger and better
