Can anyone help me with any so called great overseas players who have come to the UK and failed. Done a list but just looking to see if I have missed any. My memory is shocking. TIA.

Obviously this is subjective to a degree and we don't know who is on your list.

Yeah I got them 2. Was having a 'discussion' with an Aussie on FB and he claimed average Aussies come over here and set the comp alight. I pointed out a few so called decent Aussies who hadn't hacked it and he didn't believe me. I said

In my view he failed which was the OP point. He was a good player but he failed here imo.

Agree on Barnhill. Galloway was a huge failure.

Galloway was just getting better when injured , Backo was the biggest flop of all , had 1 god game in the Yorkshire Cup

So called [ugreat[/u overseas players who have come to the UK and failed, should refer to State of Origin representatives,or test players;But if it's a free for all then the ultimate flop should be Joe Vickery , Rex Terp, or possibly Esene Faimalo .Wasn't there a period in the eighties when we imported some dross after the overseas ban was lifted ?On the flip side, I thought Craig Izzard/ Mark Laurie,ET did us proud.

I just never understand why people get so worked up about Joe Vickery (not specifically suggesting you are Dwayne but see his name pop up quite a bit on here). He paid his own airfare, came on trial, actually had a couple of good pre season games but then did look lost in the regular season and he was gone by mid season. I agree he was a 'flop' if that's the term people want to use but it's not like he did any harm to the club or cost us lots of money. He was just a player who wasn't good enough. God knows we have had enough high paid overseas dross as this thread shows.

Running theme for most of them is they think they can just rock up, put absolutely bare minimum effort into the side, rack up the £££'s and be a world beater.

Although super league isn't the NRL by any stretch I think it surprises a few of these egotists and they quickly cba, lose interest and respect of their team mates.
