Saints away kicks off the SL season on Thursday 9/2/17

Bet we don't get Catalan away in July or August, bet it's in April as usual.

Start with St. Helens on a Thursday night, then Salford Red Devil's at home.

May won't be a cheap month.

Was hoping it would be the Friday game but oh well.

Round 1 looking like

Cas vs Leigh (should be the Friday night Sky game)
Salford vs Wigan
Widnes vs Hudds
Wakey vs Hull
Catalans vs Warrington

Both us and Hudds have Salford as their first home game so one of us must be starting with 2 away games.

Logical way is look who hasn't announced their first home game on twitter.

Wakey board says they have Hudds away week 3 so that must mean Hudds play Salford week 2, which means we don't play at home until week 3.

Week two is WCC week and only the teams in the qualifiers are playing.

Ah ok, thought the WCC was a week or two later than that.

Leigh finally tweeted their first home game, against us on Friday the 17th.

Tricky start that with two away games, Leigh will be a tougher proposition at home than what we saw several weeks ago and will be well up for their first home game back in SL.

How do we end up with two away games to start? In the grand scheme it doesn't matter massively as you play everyone home and away but what is wrong with home then away and so on?

Yorkshire Post leaked the fixtures, there's always someone.

Maybe the stadium renovations won't be ready for games until a few weeks into the year?

Either way I like us having Saints away for the first game, go beat them on their turf in the first game (as wire did to us) and we can set a real marker down for the rest of the year and bring back the fear factor of playing against Leeds

True, although only one game it could definitely shape our season if we went there and won.

Opening four games of Saints (a), Leigh (a), Salford (h) and Cas (a). Three tricky away games there but it we can hit the ground running and pick up at least 6 points from 8 then we'll be well set.

Catalans away will clash with the mid season England international.

There's a dilemma, booking the trip early to see it moved if we have half a team selected for England?

Or Leeds deciding to play in France with half a team......

2nd away game is a rearranged game from Challenge Cup weekend when ourselves, Leigh, Huddersfield and Salford play each other as we start CC a round earlier than other 8 SL teams.
