Interesting that Briscoe gets in ahead of handley.

Handley was a late injury withdrawal for the Wakey game and not named in the 19 so perhaps just not fit still.

Falloon must have played his last game for Leeds then. He'll certainly rank very high in any future 'Worst overseas signings' threads.

Can't get my head around way he would be behind Luke Briscoe?

Briscoe works hard and doesn't let anyone down. I like Handley, but he is young has played a lot of games and recently has looked a bit off the pace for me.

Briscoe has just let us all down big time.

A half-back at full-back
A kid who got released two years ago on the wing
A bench hooker at scrum-half
A second row at hooker
A full-back on the bench.

Add that to another unused sub and an on-field leader who really can't, it's no wonder Leeds are headed for 12th.

Just on the first two, Sutcliffe has done well/better at FB than at HB. Briscoe made a mess of a bomb but who hasn't whilst playing in the back 3 for us this year? Would you be confident Hsndley would've caught it?

Sutcliffe has looked better than at Half Back, but he has still looked poor. He really isn't good enough, and God help us if we persevere next season too.

I agree on Briscoe, and would definitely have backed Handley to drop that, based on his previous.

On top of that we left our best player this season sat on the bench and moved Goulding to fullback when Sutcliffe was playing well, which unless he dramatically improves defensively and in size will never be his position, why wasn't falloon playing?

Scapegoating? Have you not seen my comments on McGuire and Burrow? Age is irrelevant, if your poop your poop. No scapegoating needed. Goulding looked far better in that game than Sutcliffe, who neither looked good in the halfs or fullback. He has had enough games in his career now to be beyond any youngster tag anyway.

I'd be more confident in Handley than Briscoe. There's a reason players get released and then can't get another club at the same level. He was the very epitome of a cheap, panic signing.

It's not just the bomb either. He was 100 percent culpable for the Ah Van try. Yards out of position, ball-watching when Brown threw the pass then a half-assed effort to try and push his man into touch.

Becoming clearer that he was signed originally basically as bait to land his brother.

Anything he did wrong today we've seen the likes of Handley, Hall and Hardaker do more this year in the back 3.

Briscoe isn't SL quality. he was at hunslet for a reason

True but in the previous few games he was the better winger out of him and Handley so I had no qualms with him starting ahead today.

It is all opinions. For mine Golding did one Good tackle on Thompson but nothing else. I thought Sutcliffe did well at wakey. To then have all the moving around would not have been easy for a young Lockyer, never mind a much lesser mortal trying to find his feet. As others have said who else but Leeds would start a guy at fb, possibly time at loose forward ( I could not tell who was playing where at times today) and then move to stand off and expect a good outcome?

A tackle the slouch Sutcliffe would not have got to to make, and was actually a try saving tackle. Also made a damn good effort with the Hanbury try also. Plus his positioning was far better throughout.

Sutcliffe did go ok at Wakefield at fullback, but that was two weeks ago, today we played Widnes and that is the only game that should be referred to. You are only as good as your last game.

I agree with you on the moving around, but that doesn't excuse not been good enough anyway. He certainly has the qualities to be a good utility squad player. But to be our first choice in any position would be a massive waste for this club.

Briscoe wasn't the player to drop a high ball today that led to a try.

I said it after the Huddersfield game Golding hasn't shown anything to suggest he is good enough to play at this level.

Its got to be said though, we don't help our back three nearly as much as most teams

We never put on any kick pressure or have any players tracking back to block runners

This basically lets the kicker put it exactly where he wants and gives the defender a clear run at the fullback/winger

It was briscoe who dropped the high ball from which Widnes scored. Golding dropped one earlier in game but no try resulted.

Give McDermott chance....it's not his fault. The season so far has been an unfortunate bip..When all our star senior players return from injury we will look far better
