| Can he be talked about in the same breath as:
David Furner.
Marc Glanville.
Big Ali.
Graham Eccles.
I think he can - he has 5 GF Rings.

| Well I've no doubt this question will engender an original and informed debate about the merits of this particular player

| Out of all the five names that have been mentioned within this thread I will remember Big Ali the most. His best performances for Leeds were class above Ian Kirkes and David Furners performances for Leeds in my eyes.
Graham Eccles and Marc Glanville were before my time so I can't really comment on them. However all players have contributed to the club in their own way and that's good enough for me.

| Marc Glanville was held together by rubber bands and sticky tape, still one of my all time favourite Leeds players!!
Ian Kirke is a winner, can't take that away from him, also having a decent start to 2013, I'd take him over JJB at this moment in time.

| When assessing individual players it should come purely down to performances and Kirke is way behind any of the above including Jjb in terms of performance and what they contribute/contributed to the team but the OP knows this because he has a self proclaimed "structured view".

I just read your post out loud in one breath, including the title, thereby talking about him in the same breath as those players and thus definitively answering your question.
We can probably lock this now.

| He plays a role in this team. Maybe only a small role but as mentioned before he does what is asked of him. Is he a top class prop/2nd rower? No. But then I don't think he or anyone else claims he is. He's a solid player doing his bit for the team without complaint. Which is more than can be said for certain other props recently.

| Griffin's stats look pretty good over at Salford (presumably) now that he's getting some sensible minutes.

| A squad player that does a specific role. Doesn't do much wrong and, I suspect, isn't one of our top earners.
Fair play to the bloke, he'll go down is history as being one of the most successful Leeds players of the SL era without being one of the most successful players of the SL era. Now that takes some talent.
