I have just had an e-mail off the club, saying that Leeds are to play in the pink & grey away kit at Wembley... so it looks like we lost the toss for the home kit & home dressing room again! Hope it is not an omen!

Agreed that pink is bad news city. Played Warrington twice this year, beat them wearing blue lost to them wearing pink.

(2012 Pink 100% win record when worn at a neutral venue though.)

I wish. Although in time I'm hopeful that the shirt colour can be incorporated for the SL Era. As with all these little ideas it would have been so much easier to do so at the time rather than years after the event.

If it helps, Leeds only started really using an Away kit from 2004. Prior to that they used their change kit (the burgundy effort) only when it was required (usually vs Halifax and occasionally Wire).

in 2004, I think the powers that be clocked the fact that they could sell 2 shirts rather than 1 if the club were actually seen wearing it, which resulted in the away shirt being worn in practically all away games where there wasn't a clash

Even if it proves to be the case I fear I will have to trawl my video/DVD library for confirmation on a match by match basis as I try not to make any assumptions for the spreadsheet/s. As I only started recording colours with the John Holmes Tribute Shirt (16th July 2010) there are many more gaps than entries in that category at present.

I guess it's what the off-season was made for.

We all need something to do in the off season. I occupied my last off season participating in a public inquiry... it turned out quite well in the end and was worth it I think. I would recommended it!

Agreed. Sometimes teams switch to away strips that are actually more like the oppositions kit than their first choice. Barmy!

It's another GH psychological masterstroke to make us believe that we're the away team & the Wolves are the home team so that we'll play just as effectively as we did in the playoff semifinal last year at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

As we were the ones to change kit only 2 years ago v same opposition, surely it should have been wire's turn to change. However the prospect of Dennis the Menace fancy dress en mass might have been too much to take.

I believe these things are done by a coin toss but it is indeed fortuitous that Wire's pyjama nightmare is not unleashed on the biggest stage. As the pink kits are big sellers there is definitely a likely merchandising upside to Leeds which is good for Mr H.
