Its not a bad trip down, I 've done it many times allow 2 days and its a bit of a rush allow 3 days and you'll get there easy.

Pleanty of routes to get there too. head for Paris and then take the A75 to Clermont Ferrand turn right at Beziers and head for Carcassone then Perpignan.

You can do Motorway most if not all the way, but some of it will be on toll motorways.

It would be rude not to traverse Pont Millau on the way down as well.
