Who gives a t*ss?
It would be funny if the shirts buried were being worn at the time of the interment by 2 of the more neanderthal posters on the Wigan forum.
Prank of the century, no.
Pr*ck of the century, possibly.

| Like, OMG, that would be so funny.
Or, would involve some numpty spending 90-odd quid to bury a couple of pieces of polyester under a rugby pitch.
Remember the film "Poltergeist" where there was an ancient native American burial site under the house, and all sorts of weird stuff happened?
Yeah, well this is nowt like that.

Nowt like that either.

...to be trampled all over every Saints home game - Is this a Wigan prank or a Saints prank?

| One shirt for each play-off game they lost to Saints last season.
There are no Leeds shirts buried with them......

| Pah, scoff ye not - you know how the pitch at Headingley has never been dug up since the electric heating went in during the 1960s ?
It was a company from Hunslet that installed it.

Nice parrallel between Hunslet and Wigan...
It would be a shame to see such a great club hit such a low (Nah...I really do hope Wigan continue their slow decline from 2010's high point.
Remind me did they win their World Club Challenge match last year?

The strange thing about that episode was that it wasn't even filmed at Elland Road. Loftus Roaf IIRC

| I've heard the same about St James Park and some Mackems and also the Stadium of Light and some Geordies. Oh and also Wembley and some Aussies. Urban legend - and not a very good one either. I much prefer the one my colleague at work insisted was true where one of his mates went out for the night and woke up one kidney short!

It would help if you could get to more finals. We've been waiting for you in 8 finals in the last 8 years but only managed to play you in one, wonder why that was ?

It's because in many of those year's we've knocked them out of the competition en route to the finals.

| If this story is true it is rather amusing. But I have to say its not one of the biggest pranks to hit rugby league really. The biggest I'd say was a few years ago. Harris returned to RFL and Leeds "let" him go to Bradford. His first year they lost to us, but then it started to go well as Bradford beat Leeds. Then it went downhill and the after effects are still being felt now as the team slowly descend further and further.
I believe a life sized Iestyn doll is buried under one of the curly corners at Odsal

If it's truly life-sized, and buried at the time of his return from union it must be pretty deep..otherwise there'd be three 'curly corners' and one great big fat 'mountainy' corner.
