It was a pleasure for my step-son and I to be part of that......despite the god-damn awful 4 hour journey to get there just 10 mins before K.O.

| Your posts are slightly embarrassing. I actually find myself cringing at some of the things you put.
After 1 loss you question the ability of everyone from Hetherington, to McD, to certain players. You talk about the club as though it is poorly run and as though the powers that be haven't got a clue. You talk about playing people out of position, replacing some of our most consistent performers with youngsters (that you would no doubt then write off if they didn't do the business straight away).
Then we win a big game (yet again), and you are all apologetic and the club can do no wrong. I dont know what's more embarrassing, your initial thoughts after a loss, the fact you change your view on everything after a victory, or the fact that you think anyone (particularly from the club) cares for an apology from some nobody on a message board.
Or is this some online persona someone has created just for a laugh and have I just missed the joke? If this is a real person and their comments on here are real, I think I will finally understand the term 'tery'.

Miserable bugger
You should have been enjoying the emotion of winning.....as I was. It won't last. N.B.
Or is it more important to attempt to curry favour with others on here ?
Another one that takes life, or at least the game and particularly this forum, far too seriously. It's a bit of fun. Feckwitt.

| Now, now... let's not fall out guys
All knee-jerkery aside, it was a good, solid, no-nonsense performance from Leeds last night, particularly in defence. That 15 to 20 minute period in the second half where Leeds were under the cosh on their own line but limited Manly to just 6 points was where the match was effectively won. The two late tries at the end were the richly deserved reward for that earlier defensive effort and the icing on the proverbial cake.
Just the kind of performance and game plan required by Leeds to put to bed an NRL team who were clearly underdone and not as well-oiled and clinical as they were in 2009 as I accurately predicted here a few weeks ago. Their pre-WCC preparations were not as rigorous or as well thought out and they paid the price for turning up less than a week before the game without a serious warm-up game in the UK. That was their choice and they paid the price for it.
I don't subscribe to the view that the WCC is a big game. It's more of a sideshow event which is more important to the SL clubs. Sky don't regard it as a big game either, otherwise they'd have broadcast it in 3D. Had they done that, I may have been tempted to watch it, but they didn't so I listened to it on the radio instead.

| No falling out here - and I'm not here to impress anyone - I don't know anybody from this place to feel the need to. Just find it amusing how people can go from one extreme to the other week after week.
As for the performance, I thought it was a fairly typical Leeds finals performance. Very Nrl like in their approach to winning the arm wrestle with good line speed in defence, and then good solid yards and a long kick - wearing the opposition down, with a few calculated risks thrown in to try and unlock the opposition.

| Well Nantwich anyone who admits when they are wrong deserves some respect. So I welcome your change of heart. But I do seem to remember you doing the same thing after our GF win last year. Your change of heart on that occasion lasted almost until we had kicked off for the first game this time around.

Exactly my thoughts on the whole thing, agree with all of that. Manly weren't anywhere near the team that won the NRL Grand Final, but were nevertheless a tough test.

You have to be proven wrong first. And proof is a detail not often associated with your comments eh...BB

Lol. I love Rugby League. It's the only sport I enjoy apart from the odd bit of RU. I've supported Leeds since I was a kid and enjoyed watching the likes of Alan Smith and 'bionic barrel'. Even at times of living down under in Tauranga and Townsville (watching the 'Cowboys' regularly in the NRL was a delight) I still remained a Loiners fan first and foremost. It remains a great pity in my life I missed the most successful period from 2004 to 2007 being a temporary antipodean. C'est la vie. Instead I gained a second much more compatiable wife
When stood with fellow supporters, or indeed with colleagues we all enjoy a good 'healthy' moan and banter about the 'idiots' who run the club or company. We could all do a better job, or so we like to think. However, none of us take it too seriously.....and any that do don't tend to be the ones that have the best circle of friends. I remember a friend of my late father who stood with us in the South Stand who actually took pleasure in regularly moaning about John Holmes of all players. The rest of used to berate him of course, but he remained in good humour and we all stayed friends. Bluddy idiot.
I have a particular strong interest in WW2 aircraft and could tell you unimaginably small details about the differences between the different marks of Spitfire from mark 1 to mark 24 .....BUT I wouldn't act in a supercillious manner with others that weren't quite [iso[/i knowledgeable.
In a non formal forum 'friendly' like this ( or so I thought ) I sometimes (always ) tend to 'speak' emotionally or without a great deal of considered thought.
By Tuesday (sorry McLaren: Wed will probably be too much) ...I will probably be back to being a t.

I've watched Sky's attempts at 3D Rugby League broadcasting and have to say I'm completely underwhelmed by the whole experience. 2D for me everytime with an after the event 3D viewing (when available) but only really for the alternative audio commentary.
Both are preferable to radio though. I'd much rather watch a play than have someone read and add their perspective to the script.
