I noticed this whilst flicking through the handbook - the likely most turned-to statistic in the entire thing is wrong. As per page 20 Sinfield is actually on 2,853 points - the table in the guidebook seemingly hasn't been updated for the 330 points it says he scored in the 2011 season (although that still leaves a discrepancy of 10 points which leaves me feeling further mistrust of the thing). tvoc will know the answer

| Comparatively speaking, Super League records ought to be stand alone records. They aren't worthy of comparison with records from any previous era.

I can see what you're getting at but like it or not, your opinion of the changing nature of the game doesn't enter into it. Self-evidently, when a record is broken it becomes a past record. Same is true of all 'all-time' records in all sports, many of which may be distorted by changes in rules, conditions, player status, number of games played and many other factors.

Thank you. I agree with Sinfield's tally of 2853 before the season began (67 tries, 1279 goals, 27dg).
But how much does that undermine the OFFICIAL records in the handbook and at the club ? Not good enough.

Aside from the obvious nonsense regarding Kevin Sinfield's total (agreed on 2,853 prior to this season), Reluctant Hero has a different figure for John Holmes (1,555) and I have a different figure to both (1,55icon_cool.gif, in addition I also have different figures for David Creasser (1,077) and Kevin Dick (1,057).
I've only personally collected figures from the 1979/80 campaign onwards though and have to bolt my totals onto those recorded in the Headingley Story Volume Two so am less than 100% confident on some, especially those careers that spanned the crossover. Of course Ken Dalby's published lists were always themselves incomplete as they ommitted players making fewer than ten appearances.
From my point of view, for a club the size of Leeds RL/Rhinos and with it's long history, it's always been a great pity they don't have either a complete statistical history in print or an accurate online facility drawn from it's extensive archives.
