Who is running the prediction league this year and what are the rules?

I would like to know so it does not turn into a farce like last year when the rules were changed at the end of the season!

Frosties is running it again - not sure what the rules are.

Shame as my girls have enjoyed doing the prediction comp, but for the first time since it started we wont be bothering this season.

Myself and FoxyRhino will be running the competition. The rules will be as usual, sponsors only in the play offs.

5 points - correctly predicted DRAW
3 points - Correctly predicted TEAM AND SCORE
1 point - Correctly predicted TEAM

The rules haven't changed, they didn't last year. If someone found it fun before they will most likely continue to do so.

My only problem with last years comp was that the threads didn't appear until Tuesday or Wednesday the next week (if at all at one point). So if, for whatever reason, I couldn't post for a couple of days there was a chance of missing that weeks comp.

Predictions will be made for the 27 rounds of Superleague matches and the play-offs games (the only exception will be the World Club Challenge).

All predictions must be made before the first game of the weekend kicks off.
Any predictions made after this will only score for any games that haven't started at the time of posting.

Correctly predict a draw: 5 points
Correctly predict the right winning team and the right margin: 3 points
Correctly predict the right winning team, but not the right margin: 1 point
Anything else: 0 points

The top 8 scorers at the end of the season who are Southstander.com Player Sponsors are eligible for the end of season play-off prediction competition.

In the event of 2 players tying on points at the end of the regular season, the criteria for breaking the tie will be the person who has predicted the most scores exactly correct during the season.

The usual scoring system will apply but in the event of 2 players scoring an equal amount of points, the tie-breaker will be the player with the smallest combined margin of error over the week's play-off games.

If this is also equal, the player who finished higher in the regular season will proceed in the competition

In the event of any ties than cannot be seperated by the above methods, a random number generator will be used to break the tie if necessary.

That shouldn't happen this year (fingers crossed).
