| I think he would be a good addition, dependent on how much money he wants/who leaves at the end of the season.

| Worth a punt for me. Looks a good prospect and like you say can be used as a utility player and fill in where ever

| I think he'd do a job for us. Still young as well so plenty of time to get up to speed. I feel Leeds have missed a Dunneman/Sheridan type player that would have a bash in all the positions. But then again some would argue, don't we have any kids coming through to perform this role?

| Been stuck on the wing for the last few games, McCrea really doesn't know how to use Ratchfords instinctive talents. I'd love for him to be impact from the bench. If this did happen one of Buderus/Diskin would have to go as Ratchford would likely take a bench spot with the other 3 been filled with forwards.

He's far superior to Tansey but not as fast. A different player all round infact.

Can cover the halves, wings, hooker. Like Tansey.
Ideal utility back for a title chasing team like Leeds.
Ratchford would also benefit from being round a 'top' side and learning his trade further.
Would make a great squad player for us IMO.

| Reading the article, he's obviously keen to nail down a regular first team spot, and I fail to see how that could happen at Leeds any time soon. Assuming Buderus leaves and Diskin is re-signed, we could play him off the bench as a utility player but it is still difficult to see what he could add that the likes of McGuire, Burrow, Webb, and Smith cannot do already without replacing one of the aforementioned.
Good player though, who would benefit from developing at a club with better players around him.

| Allways liked Ratchford, hard working and no nonsence player who does alot of the "dirty work" and unseen toil for his side. Would not be upset if we made a bid for him at all, he could deffo do a job at Leeds.

Or an average player, playing in a decent side ? See also Andy Hay ....
Remember, one of the main reasons for Tansey leaving Leeds was that he couldn't get a regular game in the side at the time and there were always better players in the positions he might have been considered for (although we're not quite sure which place that would have been).
On the other hand, he could have gone to the Roosters and really made the grade down under, in which case FC still wouldn't have had a look in.

tend to agree, but youve got what you would probably describe as average...ie : kirke and ablett etc and they would walk into fc's team......

| Sorry people. I'm not convinced that we should be using up valuable salary capacity on a utility player who cannot claim a regular spot in his own team.
If there is potential, then let someone else spend the next couple of years taking the risk that he may develop, and if he does, that would be the time to think about waving the cheque book in Ratchford's direction.

| Ablett would be my first choice 2nd row when fit. Always said he'd be a star when he was in the academy at loose. That year or so at centre really didn't help his development though.
As for Ratchford, he's always impressed me when he's played us but how good is he if he can't hold down a place at (no disrespect meant) Salford. Or is that down to McRea?

| If he was happy to join on the basis of clearly being a reserve half back/bench player then I'd have no problems with that. He may well though...

| Tansey can be very hit or miss......even in the same game.
He can produce something wonderful then squeeze out a huge turd.
His real quality is his ability to sniff out something out of nothing.
But the problem with him playing fullback every week is the fact that it will leave him exposed. Errors in this area can kill a team. I'd have him in the middle of the park where he can have a positive input in a game but with the security of others around him to clean up for him.
