my local football team, who i often referee, are having a fun day and a game against tv celebs in aid of help for heroes. several of the team are ex army.
they asked me if i could get a couple of raffle/auction prizes from the rhinos, as other clubs such as cas, leeds utd etc have given prizes.
i emailed 2 people at the club, twice and the club itself twice.
after 2 weeks not even the courtesy of a reply.

caring rhinos? don't think so

maybe if someone at the club reads this they may get in touch to say why they won't help.

Try ringing them mate that might work.

Hmm, seems a little strange that, they are usually the first ones to offer things out for raffle/prizes etc.

I was doing some fundraising a few years ago and found the same problem with Leeds. I got a pair of tickets off Bradford and a signed ball of Wigan though.

sent an email to cas and the bulls and got a reply with a promise of a raffle prize. seems some people are getting to big for there boots

There are some people who simply get on and do good deeds, whilst others somehow feel the need to have their good deeds acknowledged by a wider community.

Be a shame if someone's hurt feelings, and inability to follow some fairly simple instructions was to cause this very worthwhile cause to loose a few quid.

£1200 worth of southstand tickets every month plus £300 worth for the two extra games - sounds very generous to me.

Buy some stuff off ebay and raffle it, should clear a decent profit.

You're not wrong, and the match dates aren't for this year either.

Looking at the 'giveaway' you could either say its very generous due to the face value or that its negligeable in that they'll be giving away tickets to prople who probably wouldn't have come otherwise (but might spend a few bob in the ground or even be tempted to come along again or bring paying friends/family).

Overall I'd agree with Tad that it wouldn't have been too difficult for someone to hasve the courtesy to respond even if it was just with a link to the bureaucracy. Most people would contact the club direct not search the website on the off chance there's a a form.

To be fair to the club, a few years ago close friends of my family lost their daughter at the age of 21 to cancer. The whole family had been season ticket holders for years and followed the club everywhere. The girl's father knew a mate of John Bentley's (think he had a job behind the scenes at the Rhinos at the time - last I heard he was doing something similar for the Tykes and was involved with Cleckheaton RU??) and within a day or two Bentley was on the phone offering to send players to the funeral. Kevin Sinfield and Chris Feather attended on behalf of the club, and it was hugely appreciated. The family have set up a scholarship in her name at the university she was at when she died, and the club have regularly contributed to fundraisers for it.

This will just be one of many stories out there showing that the club does care. Having said that, to be fair to Tad, a simple reply explaining the charity request procedure and giving a link to the page with the application form wouldn't really have been asking too much!

Yep. We asked for a donation for a raffle/auction in aid of The Bobby Moore Fund last year and they were quick to send us a voucher for some match tickets.
