I hate to disappoint but we all have death to look forward too. personally time with my lass no work stress and time to paint and watch replays of games. (you watch we will go though a season without a good game)

Not me. I'm young enough that by the time I'm getting old, science will have come up with something to stop you getting older. So I actually face a fate worse than death, being made immortal at the age of 85.

Retirement. I remember my 16th birthday and I was already planning my gap year.

Retirement obviously, then like me you have the opportunity to spend all day on here without any feelings of guilt.
It's important is to have enough money to survive on comfortably (however you choose to define that) & most of all to be healthy enough to enjoy it properly.
Best of all you can't be sacked, made redundant or otherwise lose your job.

Got neither a whimper nor a bang, the latter would have been good, not sure she who must be obeyed would have been keen though.

Enjoy the retirement, I've got forever to go for there is absolutely no chance that I will ever reach a point where I am able to consider retirement, what makes it all the more unbearable is that several of my closest friends will be retiring in the next few years on civil service full salary schemes.
