| Cant disagree with what JP says , Englands players must to play to their potential which they have plenty of and not be in awe of the Aussies which in the past few years we have been
In the past we have beaten ourselves before we have even got on the pitch because we have given the aussies too much respect , yes they have great players but so have we !!!!!!!!!

I think he should have read his own article, his display was rather poor.

To be fair to him he was played out of position, Peacock is now an out and out prop, why Smith thought he could still do a job in the 2nd row god only knows. Poor team selection from Smith cost us dearly.

He was poor, and out of position for many of Australia's tries - but he ain't the one getting cruxified at the moment.

Again the England players didn't play anything like to their full potential , till the damage was done and it was too late
We need to get out the blocks against the Kiwis and play from the first minute to the last , if we do this then IMO we have a chance
But the players that star in the Super League every week HAVE to stand up and be counted and play like they can play

He's shot.
Compare his performance to the younger, more athletic front rowers in this tournament and he looks like a man who time has not just caught up with but overtaken at speed.
Consecutive club coaches running him into the ground for 30 weeks a year has taken all the zip out of his legs and leaves him running like he's wearing concrete shoes.

Maybe. Maybe not. he could just have had a bad day at the office.

Quite. But, it's all relative. A bad JP day in the office is generally someone elses normal day. JP has set a very high bar for himself.

| I didn't think Peacock was that bad on Saturday. I certainly don't think he's "shot." He isn't an explosive player, but he still tackles ferociously and plays longer stints than the more explosive props. I think it takes all sorts when it comes to a pack of forwards. I don't think he played all that out of positon either, particularly in attack where he was still largely utilised up the middle.
Not, perhaps, his best game in an England shirt, but I think rumours of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.

If I was analysing based on one game you might have a point.
Against the French he looked no better than the likes of Ferriol, and he's hardly what you would call a world class front rower. Off the back of a disappointing World Cup personally and collectively in terms of performances he needed to make a mark against the Aussies. As it was, Tony Smith spared him by dragging him off when he did IMO.
Compared to the likes of Burgess and Crabtree he's looking sluggish and leaden footed in attack and defence - time and a heavy club workload have taken away the explosiveness you need to be a success at international level.
It's no coincidence that the two front rowers who have put in the most game time over the SL season - JP and James Graham - both looked sluggish on Saturday IMO.

I thought Graham did what Graham does - he took the ball up willingly, defended manfully.
At no point however did I ever think he was going to break a tackle or get his arms free and offload in the same way I did with Burgess and Crabtree for example.

| You don't necessarily want every prop to be a huge attacking threat. You need at least a couple of forwards who simply graft, make hard yards from the back and are solid in defence. We need the dynamic players as well, but its very rare for forwards to be both dynamic and workaholics, even in the NRL. Hindmarsh of a few years ago was about it.
