It was dished out today on Radio Leeds about Rhinos chasing after Mr Westwood from Warrington next year... Anyone know of any truth in this? Not heard any of the usual rumblings regarding transfer gossip.... Westwood's not a bad player for Wire IMO.

I think in terms of effort he's decent enough but we have our own back-row workhorse in jjb who's a much better player imo.

He hasn't even started his career yet and is still very raw and young so a pointless comparison and he did very well on his debut!!

This is ironic isn't it? In what way would signing a current international be 'for the future'? Westwood must be in his late 20's and is not the sort of player we need IMO, despite the fact I think he's a very good grafting back rower.

I agree with you on the just a silly rumour thing.

I dissagree with you on undervaluing his worth. He would be a very good signing, and a better player than JJB, which is why Westwood is still having a look in at international.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one,jjb has more game turning impact than westwood could dream of,whereas westwood whilst been a decent player is more of a liabillity imo of course.

Whats wrong with it?

Gareth takes a lot of pleasure in talking about the views of the twice GF winning Tony Smith, and how Smith thinks it then it must be correct.

Is not Westwood part of the Elite squad announced by England? which coincidentally was picked by Smith. Was Westwood not announced as part of the last England squad?

Was JJB announced in either of these squads?

Tony Smith believes that Westwood is a better plaayer than JJB. I prefer to listen to the veiws of the twice GF winning coach than somebody else.

Would be a good signing imo would Ben Westwood. I rate the lad, would add a nice bit of power to our pack.

As a standalone signing it would improve the Leeds squad.
