| So if Segeyaro agrees a NRL deal in Nov/Dec we are again left scraping the barrel during preseason trying to acquire a no9 for 2017?

Yep. GH by plenty.
Had a perfectly good 9 in Aiton, were too tight to pay him as one of the best 9s in the competition and are now reaping the results.
Might be another drug-dealing party animal we can pick up from the NRL in December though, so that's alright.

| That was my worry that i posted a few pages back, If he leaves us sooner than expected or we expect him to stay and he doesn't.
Getting Segeyaro now would be a big boost but if we don't have much security on his staying put it's quite risky

| This sounds like total buffoonery.
We are going to sign a hooker now (why!) But if he gets a better offer we will let him go (so he doesn't really want to be here - great).
Meanwhile we have Falloon who is contracted to the end of the year but suspect this will show him what Leeds really think of him and he will leave.
Net result is we end up paying for two hookers now, both of which will probably leave at the end of the year meaning we have no hookers.
If this is serious and not some ITK idiotic comments then GH has lost it.
This can't be true.

| Quote ="ThePrinter The wings I think would be Hall and Handley if the latter is fit (not sure what his injury is). Ablett and Golding were said will be OK for the Widnes game and that Tom Briscoe and Ward would be "there or there abouts" too so might even see Tom Briscoe back although might be the following week.
quote
Blimey I forgot all about Hall
If Handley isn`t fit he will play Hardaker on the wing with Hall probably.
I thought Falloon has looked better recently which is typical if Segeyaro steps in to replace him.
Whilst Segeyaro is the better player it would be a kick in the teeth for Falloon now that he is injury free.
We still need a decent organising SO at all costs.
Benji Marshall but that means offloading another Ausie.

True, but given that he spent most of his first season with us sick and a significant portion of his second injured and has spent pretty much the entirity of this season (has he played yet?) - injured again, I'm not sure it would have made any difference if we had kept him. We'd still be looking for a hooker IMO.

I wonder if the Cronulla drug issue still lingering in the background was a factor too.

I'd say Cuthbertson and Garbutt both hit the ground running.

What's wrong with the lad?
He had enquiries from 11 NRL clubs a couple of years ago, and received offers from 7, but decided against them.
Interest in him is waning.
Does he really want to go?

| Immediate loan swap with Hardaker until the end of the 2016 season it is then.
No news yet on which overseas player needs to be deregistered then, although I suspect it might be Falloon.

That's the natural fit, and after only 10 games would put him in quite a special club. If so it would be ironic that his last game was probably his best.
Hoping its Achurch sent on his way early.

| Delaney would probably be the wise choice, take the delicious. To rush him out of his and Macs hands and maybe get him somewhat back to his best next year.
I think this is good for all parties, we get a class player, and who knows maybe some time away does Zak some good and he comes back to Leeds a new player next year.

| So we swap Zak with a guy who could end up leaving again in a few months leaving us with no hooker? Hetherington must be losing his mind.

Your reading too much in to that line about this year first. Hetherington has it lined up correctly.

| When GH and Caddick took over we had a crap team and no money!People soon forget the amount of success we have enjoyed since then.
Hetherington is no fool, yes he makes mistakes but not many have some faith in him!

| Just looked on YouTube for footage of Segeyaro in action...first two pages were all negative stories (apart from the one where he helped some kids). Fingers crossed that 1) he's any good and 2) that he keeps his nose clean in all respects.
For what little it's worth, I also have faith in the Caddick/Heatherington axis. Never forget that, like all the others, our club wouldn't exist if it wasn't a successful business. Obviously that depends on the side's performance, but the team is constructed within business constraints. Running the team is another matter and, thankfully, what plays in the dressing room usually stays there.

No Hardaker is still our player and Segyaro is still Penrith's
At the end of the season we will then try sell Hardaker permanently, probably to penrith
Whilst Segyaro is out of contract at the panthers anyway so will be free to sign for whoever he wants
What could happen (and is likely) is that at the end of the year we do a permanent swap deal with Penrith of Hardaker for Soward, as they reportedly want rid of him and plan to move morgan to 6 freeing up the fullback spot
Would love to see Segyaro stay but I think we should be lining up a replacement for 2017, likely someone solid but unspectacular, Lunt for example
