Quite. At one point Sinfield was at hooker, who passed it to Hall at 1st receiver who passed it to McShane at 2nd receiver who passed it to someone else filling in at a position that wasn't their natural position.
At what point does his "innovation" just become madness? It's odd, I know, but even of we win 3 in a row with this coach I doubt anyone on here could convince me it wasn't in spite of and not because of his attempts to re-invent the wheel.

On this forum a few months back, there was a mini-discussion about whether or not McD should be watching videos of the opposition team.
I'm beginning to wonder if he should start by actually watching Leeds games.

He said on Friday that there was nothing wrong with our performance, and that there were a lot of positives.
That would suggest, your last point should be seen as urgent.

[iMcDermott said: “Credit to Hull KR, they didn’t let us play.
“I didn’t think we played all night. I didn’t think we looked in the game for the majority of it, it was only the final stages when we decided to be a bit more attacking and wake up.
“I’d give Hull KR a lot of credit, right from the off they had some intent defensively and shut down pretty much everything we tried.”
McDermott refused to blame Rhinos’ lengthy injury list or any controversial decisions for Rhinos’ defeat.
“There was enough good people on the field to be able to win that game,” he stressed.
“I don’t think we had enough intent or energy for the first 65 minutes, which is what we will look at.

56 pages, 2 years and I never noticed.
Now, every time I look, it irritates me.

This, to me, says it all.
He might as well have said "we were poor and I've no idea why. I don't have a clue how to get my team to play well. I've been out-coached and out-thought. But let's look at the positives".
Under McDermott we've become a boring team. There's often no apparent plan in attack, no ideas when we're near the opponent's line. Flat, predictable, tired performances.
But while Sinfield says he's the best coach he's ever worked with and while McDermott keeps Hetherington sweet I can't see when he'll go.

Fully agree with you. I've been saying the same thing, but the stock response is 2 GF's on the bounce. For the players we have, we're proportionately one if the worst attacking teams. Some times I wonder what they work on in the week because our attack rarely looks fluid with people hitting the ball at the right time

I don't think it says that. I think he was mainly right and it backs up what most people said on here post game. We were lethargic for 65 mins then looked dangerous.
I wouldn't class that as "being out-coached" since I didn't see anything exceptional from Hull KR or anything exceptionally lacking from us tactically.
You say it yourself - "flat, predictable, tired performances".

On paper I still think we have one of the best teams in the league, not 4th or 5th.
There's not enough depth to our attacking line. Too often poeple coming onto the ball are too flat, meaning there's no momentum which makes it easy for the defenders. There's also too many times when passes go to people who don't expect it meaning they start from a stand still and have to work out what on earth to do with the ball.
If these aren't the responsibility of the coaching team to iron out I don't know what is.

We only looked dangerous when the game was pretty much gone and Hull KR had knackered themselves outplaying us.
He was out-coached though. He even said himself that pretty much everything he tried was shut down by Hull KR - because McDermott has no plan B and is therefore very predictable. Meanwhile HUll KR's best player in my opinion was Michael Dobson, an obvious danger player who was allowed to run the game for his side.

Sinfield has said that with every coach he's had at Leeds. If you were appointed tomorrow, you would be the new best. It's called covering your ass.
The covering his ass bit meaning he is towing the club line, and as captain, supporting the clubs decisions. Hence why he has done it for each coach appointed he has played under.
Edit: The last sentence was for this unable to think outside of a few words, and hence ensure no avoidance of doubt.

Let's remind ourselves again shall we? From the Guardian 29/9/12:
Quote "He's the best coach I've had," said Sinfield, who twice lifted the Super League trophy under Tony Smith, now the coach of Warrington. "His mix of man-management and his game plan is second to none. Since Brian Mac has been in charge, we've been in every final so far. I love playing for him. I can't praise him enough, I've so much respect for him and I hope he's here for a very long time.'"
Sinfield must have a giant ass.

Why did we need to remind ourselves. Like I said Sinfield has repeated the same thing for each coach since Murray.
His ass won't be as big as McDermotts, not when you include you hanging out of it at every second.
You need to give it a rest with the defend at all costs and wake up a bit.

To be fair mate I remember Sinfield saying he enjoyed playing for previous coaches but I can't ever recall him saying they were the best he's ever worked with.
What he said about McDermott goes way beyond covering his ass.

| What rational person would ever think Sinfield had any need to cover his ass anyway?
There are certain people that you take what they say at face value, people that have real credibility. Kevin Sinfield is one.
Then there is Gotcha.

What is it with you and the inability to read before jumping in?
Covering his ass was a figure of speech. In that he is the captain. The captain will always tow the line (support) his superior. Look back on his comments about all the previous coaches, especially about three months in to Bluey's reign.

Maybe it's your inability to type what you think you mean. Covering his ass is a simple term which is completely different to toeing the line or supporting his superior.

Firstly I'm not the one typing something then changing the meaning when what I have typed is questioned.
I am of the belief that the quote attributed to Sinfield goes a lot further than the generally bland statements of players about their coaches. Whilst I would question parts of his statement when looking at performances, the strength of the statement makes me think that Sinfield is whole hearted in his appraisal.
Although if I assume that Sinfield has your ability to communicate what you intended to say then what he said could have meant anything.
