| Catalans will beat salford at home they will be fine. Wakey v Hull next week is the key game, and right now you have to fancy them. Huddersfield will get two bites of the cherry, first against cas which will be tough but if Wakey get the expected win against Hull then a desperate Huddersfield should be fine against them at home.
Not looking good for us making it now.

Agree, although I doubt it'd make pretty viewing if we did.

| In simple terms, to avoid the middle 8s, am I right in thinking we need to beat widnes and Salford, which I think we will. And either one of Catalans, Huddersfield or Wakefield need to loose their remaining two games ?
Cats- Salford (h) Wigan (a)
Huds- cas (a) wakey (h)
wakey- hull (h) huds (a)
If I’m right here, there’s a real chance Wakefield or Huddersfield could lose their remaining two games and switch with us?

| If Huddersfield lose to cas and Wakefield lose to hull next week, as long as we beat Widnes and Salford we’re prwtty much guaranteed to make the 8. Even if Huddersfield and Wakefield draw in the last game, our points difference will be better than Huddersfield.

| There is no guarantees on anything with this team. I was shocked looking at the stars earlier on just how poor if an attacking team we have been.
Last year was our poorest attack Until this year, and we won the title. But this year our highest points scored in a league match was the 28 in winning at Saints, apparently. If that is the case no wonder we don’t win games.

| I agree with that. I’m just hoping we’ve got enough to win our last two. We just need to get into the 8s and then write this season off. Start working on next year and most importantly recruitment

If Hudds and Wakey win next week you are done its unlikely that Catalans will lose at home, I think Wakey will beat Hull, obvioysly fancy Cas but you never know. You on the other hand havecto beat Widnes your bogey team, then Salford at Salford who it seems will have some qualitg in by then, namely Hastings and rumours of another and also possibly MCB from Wakey.

| Potential middle eight games if league placings stay how they are.
HOME: Hull KR, Toronto, Salford, Featherstone.
AWAY: Toulouse, Widnes, London.
Have to say that them away games will be very tough. Toulouse away, they are a very tough side to play at home. Widnes isn’t the best stumping ground for us and both them and London play on plastic pitches.

The championship is that tight, I'd be surprised if the fixtures stay that way.

Is it though ?
If we can't come out of the middle 8's (if we end up there) then we get what we deserve

if you don't use you're get out of jail card and beat Hull FC then you could also get drawn into a dog fight against Huddersfield if we beat Widnes this weekend
Whoever ends up in the middle 8's out of Wakey,Giants or Rhinos should be good enough to clear any possible hurdles that come their way

So Wakey have a get out of Gaol card against Hull! Not that you have not get any is it. Your the team 3 points adrift you need all the get out of gaol cards you can get, Wakey, Hudds and Catalans could all win this week if they do good luck against HKR Toronto, the French and Salford with their signings to come oh and finally your bogey team Widnes.
Basically your destiny to stay in SL is not in your hands.

How isn't it in our hands to stay in SL?
You do know we'd play 4 championship teams & Salford & Widnes right?
We stay in SL easily the Championship top 4 aren't these RL Giants many seem to think.

| They may not be giants but we're struggling to knock over mid-table SL sides that supposedly we should be more than capable of beating even with injuries. Many people assumed we'd beat Wakefield a few weeks ago. In the event they were the better side IMO and at the end looked more likely winners.
We are simply not scoring enough points, and don't have enough quality off the bench to hold onto even reasonable looking leads. Bringing in a few new bodies should help, but lets not pretend that any likely signings/returnees this year will turn us into 'giants' either. Without some major signings we look like a mid-table team of exactly the sort that could lose two of its games vs SL teams in the Middle 8s. I'm confident we'll get through the Middle 8s, but without some sort of catalyst I don't think any of our games against SL sides will be gimmes.

True, we only managed to get a draw against woeful Wakefield.
Hull have an injury crisis and are looking very depleted for Sunday’s game, even Wakefield have a chance of securing a top 8 spot this weekend.

Whats the structure for 2019? Does winning promotion in the qualifiers guarantee a position back in SL for 2019?

| Cas bending over against Huddersfield, just to deliberately spite us. Hopefully Hulls need of a win to stay in contention will ensure they don't roll over against wakefield tomorrow, but reckon Huddersfield will allow Wakey to beat them next week.
But it's our own fault 3 points from last 24 available as put us in this position.

| McShane looked rather too happy at the end to be on the losing side, big grins all round shaking hands with the Hudds players. OTOH Powell looked miserable for most of the game.
