Our winters are reliably crap for training conditions. We do need a serious off-season as a team this year, to continue turning the oil tanker around. Maybe they'll do a camp if the weather remains so bad - they may also want to put another piece or two of the recruitment puzzle together first so that the whole team for 2020 can bind together.

Last year I was desperate for the return of Leeds and yet last season was the quickest ever! Never had a season pass by so quickly before.

Yes feels like a long off season this year to me as well, last season did seem to go quickly, do you know what whilst most of it was dire I really enjoyed some of the wins last year but I'm just hoping we can start well next season and try take some of the threat of relegation away far far earlier than the last 2 seasons!

I think we may see Hurrell in the 3 shirt @ right centre next year and Newman in 4 on the left.
I think Hurrell was only given 4 because at the time we had Watkins on the left. I watched him play at 3 for Tonga and his defence was rock solid against Australia

If Newman can play left its a bit mad to not use hurrell on his better side.

I always thought most centres and back row preferred the Left side. Was always the way when i played.

Newman always looked better in left in academy with Broadbent on the right.

I would have thought so if they are right handed as it's the natural side to pass to. Hurrell looked far better on the right so I'd shift them both to the opposite side. I'm hoping for a big year for Newman, I suspect he will be physically tougher this year and will have learned so much from last year.

Agree, I reckon Newman might turn out to be a top notch player.

Jimmy Keinhorsts not needed, he's average at best and we'v got top quality youngsters ready for game time in the positions he plays, good decision to let him go when we did.

They should rotate in game, that way it keeps giving the opposition on their toes, the same should apply to the wingers.

Yes because Newman is the more athletic and Broadbent has the skill.

I always wondered whether it was the right call putting Hurrell on the left to accommodate Watkins - good shout to put him on the right IMO and Newman could cause plenty of problems switched.

Any news on Broadbent by the way after his jaw injury? Would love to see him progress this year.

Broadbent was on the video the club posted of there first week back in training, lifting weights with rest of the squad.

I am a huge fan of the effort and commitment shown by Jimmy. He dug in when many big names went missing but his opportunity has been and gone.

Yeah I can see where the good squad man comment comes from but actually now he would be blocking youngsters who are just as good as him. It's a no from me.
