| As someone who actually went to the game can I offer the following:
Wakey were excellent in the first half - they built pressure but lacked the skill to turn domination into points. Leeds defended well, especially when down to 12 but Wakey didn't really ask that many questions.
Losing the penalty count 11-4 in the first half was a reflection of Wakey's dominance - the count swung the other way has Leeds got a grip.
Watkins he is one serious talent - he makes the difficult look easy as well as his 4 tries he made one brilliant try saving tackle in the first half.
Sinfield - three brilliant assists, although I expect Webb to get the assist for the first try, his flip out the back was worth the entrance money on its own.
Burrow - how far backwards has he gone as a player - maybe he needs so time away to recharge and rethink, he bombed a 5 man overlap and minutes later through a bullet into Cross's head when soft hands would have seen a try scored.
Bailey excellent, who would have thought he might start after all this time, not Remarkable Rhino he gave the middle some spine.
Ablett was my MOM he was superb in defense
McShane shown some real variety to his game and a nice kick that Watkins effortless turned into a try.
A hard won victory but one out completion rugby is not the way forward in attack for the Rhinos, Wakey coped easy with this when we started throwing it around they struggled.
In Dean and Johnson they look to have a good threequarter combination for the future

| Good summary tbf Sal but i also thought Kylie added impact especially in defence.
Got to agree re-Burrow not the pocket rockest finest game but many others made howlers ball in hand especially poor knock ons from Hall and Jjb.
I will also add that the players alone have to take the critics for the 1st half and also the credit for digging themselves out of the hole they dug.

| I also went to todays game
In the first half Wakey applied the pressure to our line with an outstanding kicking game which pinned us behing our try line on several occasions, they never had the class to turn these repeat sets into points though
Ben Jefferies and Rinaldi were very dangerous for them, and as Sal has mentioned Dean and Johnson looked very capeable at this level in the three quarters
With a bit more composure added to our off-load at all cost frenzies, then more points would have been added in the first half
Other notable mentions go to:
Kylie, really got stuck into them whilst he was on
Bailey, certainly stiffened the middle up
McShane, made a telling introduction from the bench and he clearly isn't scared of taking the game by the scruff of the neck

| Wakefield were awful. In the first half they were gifted yards and yards of field position through ill-discipline, handling errors, and some truly baffling calls from Childs. They offered nothing other than five drives and a kick and even with set after set after set in the leeds half barely looked like breaking through.
Leeds in the first half barely made one pass stick, barely completed a set and offered very very little offensively but encouragingly didnt look troubled defensively. Though that was likely more down to Wakefields limitations than our excellence.
Second half we broke them, a great spell from Kylie between 10 and 20minutes and some nice work got us the lead from that point we dominated.

Depends upon which commentary you were listening to as to whether it happened or not (allegedly or otherwise) from a radio commentary perspective.

| There was an incident just before Watkins’ 3rd try where Sinny ran from first receiver to his left and both JJB and Senior ran right and blocked whatever move Sinny had in mind.
After the try celebrations Kev had a right go at Senior and wasn’t too happy with Jamie Jones either.
Did anyone else notice this?

I don't recall either the full match commentary on Yorkshire Radio or the frequently interrupted and unsatisfactorily less than half a match Radio Leeds commentary making any comments about that.
Interesting though.

I saw this, the move involved JJB and Senior running some sort wedge or face ball play, Brent Webb seemed to obstruct the running of this play and it was him that Sinfield was berating.
Webb seemed to misread/over involve himself alot today, including scooting from the PTB when Leeds were set with a huge overlap in the first half and jumping into the line at first receiver a couple of times when not needed.
Im not sure if he felt his presence necessary due to Burrow's woeful showing today but the structure of Leeds' attack was fairly poor today i thought.

I noticed Kev going ballistic a few times during the first half. It was quite bad viewing as the players looked to be angry with one and other and it really seemed like Leeds we're losing their way.
The attacking from Leeds in the first half was worse than anything I have seen from them for quite a few years. The negativity at half time in the stand was very strong. Yes the defence stood firm but the Wakefield attack never looked dangerous. I was stood next to some Wakefield fans and they couldn't believe how poor Leeds we're attack and discipline wise. We posted some points in the second half and didn't let Wakefield in but all in all that was a very bad performance from Leeds. The scoreline, which flattered Leeds, looks to have brushed the poor display under the carpet.

| Did we take a couple of steps forward in defence again today I wonder?
Are we moving in the right direction now, or did we just come up against the poorest attacking team in the competition and invite them into the game by not respecting the ball and giving away penalties all over the place in the first half?
Do we really look like we are getting any closer to the style of play the coach (and CEO) are wanting us to play.
I only ask because next week we come up against the current Champions, current meanest defence in SL, and face the prospect of having only a 25% home win record by 10pm on Friday night.
Glass half full or half empty?

What's wrong Jeff - stung into action by some home truths on the "Wigan" thread - you add value to this board some of the time, sometimes you just behave like a five year old.

The performance you read about on here, via Keith's slanted opinion (I could actually hear the sound of his flesh being battered as he hoped for a Leeds loss, but ingeniously covered his tracks by predicting a win btw)?
Or the performance you heard on the radio?
Since your knee jerk a few posters actually present have posted their reports so you could read those.
