| Sutcliffe will be ahead of Newman in the pecking order rightly or wrongly at this time in my opinion.

| Probably. It maybe has the feel of a make or break year for sutty despite him being contracted til 2021. His name may also go on ze list next close season if there's not more involvement and consistency shown by him.

| IMO I think that all of our England academy players need to be playing above academy level next season even though they still qualify to play at that level, in order to progress their careers
I can foresee that the majority of these players being sent out on either dual reg or even on a season's long loan deal depending on which club they go to.
Realistically speaking I would love to see our talented kids that won't get a game in the first team during 2019 ultimately go out on loan and play in the Championship if possible in order to get them ready for 2020/2021 onwards whilst playing against sides that will take them out of their comfort zone as being top dog at academy level.
For players like Harry Newman and Tom Holroyd I would like them to go to Fev on dual reg in order that they can also play some first team footy at the Rhinos too as they are the 2 most likely to get the chance in the first team in 2019 IMO
Thoughts guys

| No bigger fan of Tommy the Tank than me. I've watched nearly every game he's played in 16s and 19s but I'm not sure physically he's ready or mentally tough enough yet for regular week in week out Championship rugby.
Last year was his 1st in 19s and he missed a lot of time due to niggling injuries and bangs.
Another year in 19s, maybe a month or so on loan here and there will benefit him more.
He is still a kid at 18 and there is no need to rush a young prop through. I don't he's mentally as tough as Mikolaj for example but I rate him extremely highly and think he can become a star but in my opinion to be playing against men week in week out at this stage would be too much for him.

You obviously seen him more than me,but seems to have come on. Huge amounts since he made his first team debut, reckon he could manage 5-6 first team games next year.

Be good if he could mate but he's plenty ahead of him. I would hope Corey Johnson would get that at least tho.

The U19’s won’t challenge him enough and isn’t the best place for his development in 2019.
If you are right and he’s not ready for week in week out Championship rugby we should look to send him out on loan to Hunslet or Keighley in League 1.

And all the best props were of the same age when making regular appearances.
That said,I do tend to agree with you on make sure the development right. Although I do disagree on the mentality bit. I have watched him since undear 12’s, and seen how focused he is.

| Imo TH ,Johnson ,Trout ,A.Sutcliffe Newman Dupree Mconnell & Mustapha are ALL above u19.
Id hope to see all get 1st Team gametime either at Lge 1 or Championship level.
It may not be viable for a whole season for most but anything between 10/15 games for most & a full year for Newman.

| I agree Rhino I’m not really bothered if we win a grand final at 19s I’m more concerned about the development of these quality kids . The 19 comp is poor so we really need to get these kids out playing against men . If we keep them in the 19s for me we are hindering their devolpment . Pretty sure the club can see this and will do the right thing . !!! Quote ="RHINO-MARK"Imo TH ,Johnson ,Trout ,A.Swutcliffe Newman Dupree Mconnell & Mustapha are ALL above u19.

I know some staff was concerned he didn't play some games last year when they thought he couldve played which is my point regarding his mentality.
He's a fantastic prospect. I've championed him on here many times. I always want young props holding back. There is no rush. Stuart Fielden was playing prop at that age but was finished at 27 we don't want that. Prop is a hard position for someone so young nowadays.
Tommy is great, he's going to be a tremendous player for us but for me he isn't ready to playing against men week in week out.

From Chev Walker (on the Our League commentary) who said that he himself was classed as 'the manchild' when he debuted as he was 100kg, but no where near the 122kg that Holroyd is.

Fev worked quite well last year. Their new coach has experience in coaching academy players too I think? There is definitely a transition between props playing academy and running through smaller/weaker players, and getting to open age where they'll get put on their backsides sometimes. I'm not really sure why the Championship would better protect though - it's a very physical league with some big hard nuts running around.
Overall I'd say it's very much a case-by-case basis. I think Bailey and Ablett spent time in London early on - don't see that the Bradford stint did Cam Smith any favours at all though. Some players need a challenge to grow up a bit frankly; others do better in the Leeds environment right through.
Whatever they do decide with Holroyd, he is exactly the type of player we need coming through and I'd like to see him get a few first team appearances in 2019.

Makes him bigger than the 6'9" Tyson Fury who weighed in at just under 117kg for the Wilder fight in that case. I have doubts regardless of Chev's take on it.

| Interesting that Wire are happy to release Morgan Smith especially after they pyt so much ££££ into getting him there from our scholarship.
Pity they wasted so much time trying to turn him into a 9 when his huge potential was at 6.
Another to file under "grass wasnt greener at W@#ky" with Learmonth & Brooke Broughton.

Fury is just blubber though, which weighs less than muscle.
