Look at Saints squad depth. They beat us with their equivalent of JJB playing scrum half.

Both. Squad not strong enough or playing well enough. Bradford are a spent force, no disrspect but Salford are pretty poor and we should have had enough at present to beat them both no doubt. BUT like i say when you take into account we're out of the cup lost the wcc, beaten well by saints twice you've got to say the team aint good enough as well. The coach can only do so much if the players he has aint quite ready for week in week out SL (in the case of watkins ben jones bish, hall) or good enough.

Well I'm certainley not. And have said no such thing as Mclennan or GH out etc etc or that we have a god given right to win all the time.

Our attacking play this year has been woeful across the whole 13 on the pitch. Blaming individual backs would not be accurate or fair, but the lack of a cutting edge in certain areas of the field is causing us severe difficulties. There is a lot of argument about one player not being able to change a bad side into a good side, true. But one or two players of quality just where you need them can make a huge difference to a team that's already got a core of class players struggling with the options around them.
Innability to threaten on attack gives opposition teams confidence and puts pressure on the defence. We have a defence that has struggled with the amount of work it's had to do in the wrong areas of the field and has as such conceded some very soft tries through lack of concentration rather than good attacking play by the opposition.
These things creep up on you, it happens to other teams, it just seems to be our turn this year so far. I'm not sure we can rectify it now.

Yes, seen them play, and doubt either of them will play for Leeds first team ever, and certainly not up to covering as of now. We see new players joining the squad for preseason every year, and they go by the wayside. I don't look too much at exceptions, for me, if you are not raising headlines at 17 lets look at the next crop.

At the moment yes they are. Gidley over Gibson, Gardener over Hall, or even Gilmour over Gibson. Gidley is better at present than any centre we have and Gardner is better than any of our wingers apart from Donald who has just lost form. I also think they have the edge in the pack with the addition of that big Kiwi (who's name i can't spell

Gibson is our reserve centre. Gardner should be compared to Donald, both being right wingers.
Gidley is the only one I'd take over his direct comparision.....and as a fan of the game more than a club, I'd rather us take the time to develop Smith than replace him with an australian at the back end of his career.

Then you said it was only a supplementary player you were wanting to sign - i.e. somone not to play all the time, therefore someone who is going to spend most matches carrying water.

I'd rather us have someone like Gidley then put Smith on the wing instead of Hall. We're relying too much on players like hall and watkins who are not ready yet and need to be nurtered.

Ever heard of a bench or squad. you don't have the same 2 2nd rowers playing the full 80. Players like eastwood and ali are great impact players who don't play the full 80.
