Interesting to read Piroe only 1 goal in last 6 and Aaronson only 1 assist in last 6. Pretty poor form considering our results. Piroe best finisher by a mile at the club but games like that at Burnley don’t suit him. Trouble is Joseph doesn’t look like he’d score in a brothel

Heard that Akpom is available. Didn`t he score a bucket load of goals for Boro when he played for them? Not sure about his current form but based on his past he would be ideal.

You wouldn’t buy him and expect him to do a job next season if we go up based on his Sheff Utd, Villa and Southampton stats. He’s done okay at Championship level, which is obviously where we are, and he may see us over the line if we sign him now. It’s like I said in a previous post, how much would we spend on a player that is realistically a decent Championship player that may not cut the mustard 6 months later at a higher level ? His P.L stats may not be a true reflection of a forward playing in teams that have been on the back foot, but he didn’t manage a goal for Villa in 10 games and was then deemed not good enough for them. I haven’t seen the lad play, so if we sign him let’s hope he’s the difference between scrabbling for a top two spot and putting our foot on the accelerator.

I had to smile at the comment made by Farke in today`s press conference where he said: I trust my players. I don't think its necessary to have six or seven options there. Strikers need backing and confidence and rhythm. It's a long season and cup competitions. We also stay awake for the striker position if we are one injury away from being unable to use in a game. I'm struggling to see clubs with five atatcking options . I look at Bayern Munich, if Harry Kane scores he plays, If he doesn't the team are not successful. Yeah, right load of tosh. He's backing his players fair enough but it's tosh in reality. He also made me laugh when he said we've not come accross a player who ticks all the boxes of being affordable, with the right personality, right ability etc etc etc... as if any club only ever signs a player who's cheap and ticks all those boxes.. sometimes you just have to get that player. £15m now is nothing compared to the riches of being promoted to the Prem. it also guarantees 2 years of parachute payments if we went back down again... crackers..

100% Trebor. His reluctance to play loan players does not give encouragement to the player or the loaning club. It also makes the likes of Piroe, Joseph and Aronson more comfortable knowing they get numerous free hits as there`s no competition waiting in the wings. Farke`s stubbornness could cost us promotion and him his job.

Didn’t go down as an assist, but it was Aaronson’s effort and bravery that gave us that opening goal. Effort and bravery are words never applied to Joel Piroe by the way. That was a top class performance and not one player underperformed today. What a difference having a LB who can cross with his left instead of having to cut inside. Piroe much better coming from deep and Rothwell looking good going forward. For me James and Tanaka if I had to pick our best 2. Thanks for the send off I go away Wednesday

Class today. Absolutely class. Cardiff were 8 unbeaten too. Nice 5 point gap to 3rd now also.. Interesting to see Archer absent from Southampton squad today…
