Proven no longer wanted at a top 4 side, more like. Neither will he be backing up the likes of Walmsley and Thompson. In fact, worryingly, he might not be backing anyone up. He could be starting...

| This is the problem: our ambition is to sign a squad prop, not the Walmsley or Thompson.
Would Amor help turn us into a title winning side? He might help the mix of experience to bring on the younger lads but... how much of that do you need?
Better than Singleton probably yes, different than Singleton but not a signing I would be excited about. Partly depends on how Holroyd and maybe Dupree are shaping up.

| While Amor is no world beater, this is still a squad game, and if we get him for the right money and the fact that he doesn't take up an overseas spot might make him a good bit of business.
Hooker is key for me, as Dwyer has his specific role as injecting pace and speed, but he isn't controlling and to me falls off too many tackled. Not having a proper defensive hooker has made the job of our middles far harder in the last couple of years in my view.

| Amor, hope not, if we need a prop forward let’s sign one who gets into the first 13, a prop who starts the game, not a squad player. We have enough squad players, all they do is slow up the development of the youngsters, this season we need to see some of these young kids playing first team rugby and let’s see how they are developing, further signings of squad players will only slow down their progress. If the kids are good enough let’s start introducing them into the team.

I agree. We probably do need a prop to be fair somebody aggressive who the ooposition look out for. Amor most definately isnt that man. We would be better nudging the kids up the pecking order.
End of the day though its all runours. When club have something to say they will.

| I would sooner we sign Battye from London if we are looking at the likes of Amor.
Another Ava type prop is what`s needed as I feel Crosby will be similar to Amor and we need grunt to compete with other teams.

There need to be serious questions about how Leeds/Furner used and mismanaged someone who this morning looked like pretty much the best player in the world. He's just been MOM in a victory against the Kangaroos. Yes behind a brutal and winning pack but for him to fail to perform with Leeds raises a lot of questions, not least when he has been effective for Salford as well.

You are disregarding Tuis part in this though, he looked disinterested and unfit, sometimes it just doesn’t work out for a player, if he had been playing for us with a set of forwards like Tonga have I dare say you may have seen a different player aswell

| Precisely. At Leeds he played behind a beaten pack most weeks, was in poor condition when he arrived, was disinterested most of the time, and it was the right decision to let him go.
What happens after he leaves is irrelevant as it wouldn’t have happened at Leeds.

To be fair Furner wasn’t why it didn’t work. He identified the problems, but couldn’t get the changes to make it work with support. Lolohea was just as bad in many games after Furner left, before the club without Furner long since involved got rid.

They all respond differently and all have slightly different motivations and personalities. Yes the player has responsibilities but the difference in performance levels between Tui at Leeds and Tui after a few months at Salford, never mind Tui for Tonga can't just be ignored.

Yeah appreciate what you're saying but for me Furner couldnt get the players to play for him. When Agar took over, for me many of the players were at rock bottom. I think Tui had not settled at all and downed tools then wanted out.

| I haven't seen Leeds games this year, except the ones on sky,
But surly..
The Tonga forwards are giving Lolohea a better platform to perform then the Rhinos forwards did all season?

He’ll go down a fair bit in my estimations if he leaves before or even early on in the season, I don’t expect him to see out the rest of his contract but Id like him to stay for the rest of next season

On top of all this, Tui was hardly ripping up the NRL when he signed, with NRL clubs falling over each other to sign him...
He was just the wrong player at the wrong time for Leeds, unfortunately.
