Last year we made a half a million profit. I would imagine we budget to make no finals. It won't have cost us anything to not get there, but we have probably missed out on about half a million through not attending and winning anything.

No he has a point, not reaching finals effects the money coming in to the club, as it would any club in any sport.

I merely stated it happened before and was no big issue, which is true. Considering we've hardly been breaking the bank these last few years on bringing top players in I'm extremely UNconcerned by our financial position.

And like I put above, previously there wasn't a rebuild to finance internally.

Yeah, he said that G1 doesn't have the cahoonas to follow through with it, so challenge him.

So on the numbers lay year we made half a million profit. This year had seen a bigger Gate but no finals so I would expect a moderate profit but not much. The only place we need investment is hooker. We could bring in a top name and still have plenty of change from last year's profit.

Didn't we spend a million pound on a new pitch this financial year? Accepted that's cash not profit, but would guess grass probably won't have a long useful life.

In accounting terms that would probably be accounted for over 5 to 10 years

I actually amended the post before you replied. Would not think the useful life would be so long on the grass side, but possibly the drainage side.

Unless they were sat on a load of spare cash though, it might involve a lot more interest costs.
