Great signing, improves the backline immensely. Far better winger than BJB. Give us some proper depth in the threequarters, unlike this year. If BJB doesn't fancy competition for his place then his replacement is a big upgrade. Gives us arguably the two best wingers in the comp both of whom do a tonne of quality work out of dummy half.

Off the top of my head I'd suggest you re-watch London away and BJBs two tries. With much less ball Watkins gave his winger far better service than Moon last year.

Moon didn't need to change his brain. All he needed was a winger who kept the correct position. Unless you haven't been watching all the passes Hall has dropped, or gone behind him into touch, or where he has come back inside instead of backing himself for the corner? That was what I was referring to. In a lot of those cases, I strongly believe Hall was at fault, you think different, but that's all opinions.

Let's look at Hall's tries (SL games only) and who would have been his "usual" centre ...
2009 - 29 tries (outside Keith Senior)
2010 - 23 tries (outside Keith Senior)
2011 - 25 tries (outside Keith Senior)
2012 - 26 tries (outside Zak Hardaker)
2013 - 16 tries (outside Joel Moon)

He went from top try scorer four years on the trot, down to 16 tries in 2013 ... something changed substantially in 2013, I wonder what that was?

Having seen Moon too often bringing attracted defenders too close to the touchline for Hall to have any space other than by moving inside (and still not getting a pass, or occasionally getting a speculative Richie-Blackmore-cocktail-shaker pass but where the defenders are waiting for him), having seen Moon too often try to back himself and get wrapped-up, and having seen Moon fail to give the winger service, I think I know the main reason and it ain't Hall's supposed lack of "rugby brain".

This. And the word baffling earlier was used for some other point, but should be used as to why Halls form is completely ignored. And also ignored is the quantity of tries Leeds have scored in the same periods that are highlighted.

I have observed Moon's game (as well as Hall's form) and Moon's game simply isn't great in the winger-service department.
Why you are baffled by that observation, I cannot say, but you're right that's where we differ.

Quite how do these totals affect the number of tries that you say Briscoe would have scored outside of Moon that Hall didn't?

And also the balance of left vs right. With Watkins on the right edge, Leeds have genuine threats on both sides for the first time in ages

Just to add to the Moon/Hall debate the service to that side has been painfully slow and way down on accuracy imo often forcing Moon to go on his own.
Also imo Moon should know where his winger is as much as Hall should be up with play etc its a partnership so non that score BOTH are culpable.

Besides the obvious it has also to be acknowledged that a significant percentage of Hall's tries came courtesy of the service he received from the full-back - so I'd also consider the effect that replacing Webb with Hardaker has had on the winger's try count.
