I don't think it can be Harvey Howard as he didn't make his Leeds 1st grade debut until the 5th January '94 some ten days after the game belonging to the programme cover.

I'd go along with those that have suggested Gary Rose and both he and Lowes played in the previous Leeds home game (V Leigh) which I'd imagine would be a likely source for the cover image for the next home game.

Edit: Bin the Leigh suggestion above as the source for the image. Headingley was covered in a blanket of snow that game. Still think it's Rose though as I've now seen some images of him wearing that strapping on his right hand leading up to the Boxing Day game V Wakefield.

Gary Rose seems a likely candidate then. Had forgotten Harvey being a midseason signing - he must have settled in fairly quickly as in my mind he's instantly associated with the era - albeit my memory also seems to visualise him wielding a shotgun rather than wearing a Leeds shirt, presumably the result of some cliched YEP photoshoot.

Ignoring the Leeds v Hull d!ck measuring that's going on here (I like Hull very much, so I'm not getting involved in that), but you have yet to produce (on request) a single scrap of evidence for your claims. All we have is Gary Hethrington telling it one way, Adam Pearson telling it another. The Hull Daily Mail, while better than the YEP (equivalent mouthpiece for Leeds sports teams), is in no more impartial, and Paul Cooke is not exactly unbiased either. I'm sure the YEP reports it from a pro-Leeds perspective too. Should I then take whoever (probably Peter Smith) wrote the piece in there as gospeller, or is it just Paul Cooke?

The only impartial opinion available is that of the tribunal.

Unless you can point to some actual evidence behind what otherwise sound like wild conspiracy theories, then I'd venture to suggest that it's you who is wearing the blinkers here.

Not been funny, as a fc fan you know our feelings on paul cooke, but the one thing about him in his rugby column he tells it as it is and doesn't pull no punches, and id take his opinon on the saga over any of yours on here, but like i say you look at it through your leeds tinted glasses

No, he tells it as he sees it. Fair play for being honest and consistent in his opinions, but why is he in a position to know more about what actually happened than anyone else? Was he at the tribunal? Did he receive all the supporting evidence from both sides?

I read Paul Cooke's column from time to time when I'm up in Hull, and it's nowt to get excited about in all fairness.

Paul Cooke is honestly the best person to judge at what went down at the tribunal. Honest.

You can tell a story many ways. You have your truth, others have theirs. But the decision and outcome seperates winners from losers and I mean that on a few levels.
