I like Mulhern, he’d fit that 4th prop role well. More experienced/resilient than holroyd but also not at a level where he’d be standing in the way.

I said on another thread that we need to release Thompson and Mellor and get 2 props.
One from the NRL and one British - Mulhern would be ideal 4th or 5th prop.
Mik and Prior shouldn't be having to play the minutes they are, because we only have 2 props in the 17.
Depth up front would make a big difference.

Mulhern would be a great buy. He never really got a chance when he was here first time around but if he's looking for something (presumably) closer to home and I think the club he used to support then we should make contact. It's not as if Wire are on a great trajectory themselves so it's probably a good time to get at him.

How's Dupree getting on at Widnes? He was mentioned on here earlier in the season

Is James Harrison getting much of a look in at wire. He’s got the size and awkward shape that we are generally missing even amongst our actual props. Granted he’s a bit more of a project than Mulhern.

Was doing very well but been injured for quite a while, rumoured to be going Salford.

Only concern is that Smith unlikely knows anything about the large majority of our team so will need to see them play a few times before making a decision on whether he wants to retain them or not.

I understand he has been sent videos of all this seasons games.
I wouldn`t be surprised if he`s done his homework and watched a few from last season too.

From what I've seen so far, I get the impression Smith is (like his Dad and Uncle Tony) a detail man. This means he already has seen enough and heard enough to have put the players into 3 categories "keeper", "maybe" and "going". I'd say there's a few in the "maybe" category but that will work itself out over the next few weeks based on what he sees in training (skills, application and attitude) and on matchdays (ability to perform under pressure).

I think we've all got our own mental lists, it'll be interesting to see how they align with the new man's lists over time...

Some players will react differently to the new man in charge. So hopefully some who obviously didn’t buy into Agar might be totally different with Smith. Although Agar came across as a nice guy who knows what his man management skills were really like. So hopefully Rohan can get more out of the squad and continue the upward curve started by JJB.

It’s fair to say he used to share things with people he shouldn’t have as well. For me to know some things which I won’t repeat about what he said about certain players just shows that it was a leaky ship.

That surprises me, are you able to elaborate. It always seems like the players liked him, although I was surprised there were no social media posts acknowledging his contribution or wishing him all the best (not that I saw anyway).

I imagine for a lot of coach/player relationships, they will get on with certain players and not others (Agar and Gale, McDermott and anyone outside the 14 players he used), so could be possible your contact has an axe to grind?

I think we will see a number of changes. I think Bodene Thompson and Matt Prior (given his missus is pregnant) will leave at the end of the season. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Briscoe leave and also now given the circumstances, Richie Myler.

I can't see why "circumstances" would lead to us letting Myler leave one year into a three year contract. That makes no sense at all.

Average NRL wage set to be 210K from next year. Huge discrepancy between SL and NRL. Hoping Smith's contacts can land us with developing talent rather than blowing marquee wages on players on players whose ability will never justify that tag.

I agree, RS should have good raps on who are the top talents in the Q Cup. Couple of big Ava style props, and our squad could look massively improved!
