| In the short term it’s good, it should grease the financial wheels.
Longer term, not sure. End game is probably to take over, then, well then the club loses its soul.

| Great deal for the club imo. And because it’s a shirt sponsor too it’s massively helps P&S compliance. Marathe has said it’ll make a difference in player retention too for this season coming. If we go up it will also give us further clout to what is already a significant backing

| So the transfer window opening is nearly upon us. What do we reckon as incomings and retentions then chaps?
Seen loads of chatter about bobby decordova-reid being of serious interest to Leeds - replacing Gnonto or Summerville. He'd be very handy in the championship. anyone hearing anything else?
Spurs have triggered auto 1 year extension for Rodon so they get a fee. Would like to see that deal definitely done. They won't loan him again though so we need to be careful with the fee especially if we need to replace 2 or 3.
We need probably 2 wingers at least, Jaidon Anthony will be back with Bournemouth (i'd like him back on loan personally - i think he may add a fair bit more next season given the chance) and if we sell both Gnonto and Summerville that leaves us very short and will need some goals being replaced... I'd like to see us try get Jack Clarke... he'd almost certainly want to come back surely... totally different club now and he's one of the best players in the championship and has a goal threat..
other than that we need to bring in a right back and another centre back with Cooper going. I'm sure Cresswell may leave also.. can;t see Gray going - i don't think the lad will want to and now we have additional cash we don't need to sell if a big offer comes in.
then what do we do with regards to strikers... Piroe doesn't seem to work at 9 in Farke's system.. Bamford is too injury prone.. the number 10 position needs looking at too, we need more goals from there
some work to be done that's for sure.

| Gruev has been linked with Dortmund as well. Tanaka from Dusseldorf has been linked, but I'd be looking to sign Pierre Ekwah from Sunderland regardless of if Gruev stays.
The priority has to be the defense and GK IMO. We need at least 2 CBs even if we get Rodon, as I think Cresswell needs to go out on loan. RB should also be top priority. Getting Gray and Ampadu playing in their best positions will improve the balance of the squad massively.

| Yeah there's some work to do isn't there. Pierre Ekwah was quality wasn't he, we were a bit short in midfield back end so that certainly needs looking at, needs a few goals in there. Trouble is with Gray he looks just as good at RB as he does in midfield but playing him in midfield at 8 gives us added creativity.. agree regarding 2 centre backs as it gives us options on Ampadu, he's very very useful in midfield but he's also superb at bringing the ball out from the back..
Re Jack Clarke, I would have thought he would be obtainable as Piroe was.. surely Sunderland will need the money.. depends on Prem interest though I suppose.
Not sure about Bamford, can we afford to replace him with anything better given other areas to focus on? and we could be 2 wingers down... depends what we'd sell him for.
I'd definately sell Meslier though, heard a stat today on the Graham Smyth podcast that he was one of the worst keepers in the championship for saving goals. Both promoted teams had their keepers in the top 3, its a pretty bad stat that as we were very good defensively so it kind of makes that stat even worse.

| I'd definitely be looking at a new striker, someone like Fofana who was on loan at Burnley last season would be ideal, but if they don't sign a striker, I'd give Joseph a game first.

| The way I`m reading it wrt Rodon is that Spurs have activated a further 1 year deal but could loan him out next year as long as the team getting him agree a fee at the end of his loan period.
Personally get him on loan for a year with a 10 million fee to pay at the end.
I too would let Messlier and Bamford leave and try for Moore who can score goals and has the experience we need.
Be happy with Ramsdale on loan although doubt Arsenal will release him.
I wouldn`t mind Roberts for another year and McLean from Norwich for his experience but he might be getting on a bit now, not sure.
Jack Clarke I think will go to a Prem Club.

| Rushworth from Brighton or Rodak on a free from Fulham would be more realistic targets for a new GK. Rushworth would be perfect.
Clarke has been linked with Southampton

| I see Phil Hay has announced he's no longer covering Leeds UTD... really shocked at that news. He's Leeds twitter royalty. Will be hugely missed, very insightful and balanced with good inside knowledge. Strange career move given how big the Leeds following is and the media coverage it gets...

| Well watching England so far has been like watching Leeds UTD over the last month of the season... deary me.. majority of players looked gassed and running in treacle. Unbalanced squad...
Can't for the life of me work out why Southgate has experimented with TAA in midfield at the Tournament... you could see against Serbia he was out of his depth there. Germany, Spain, France, Portugal would muller us in the midfield if this continues.. has to bring in Wharton / Mainoo (i don't think Gallagher is the answer) or put Bellingham to 8 and get Foden to 10. Then you can put Gordon on the left which would give you much more balance. And how Palmer is behind Bowen is laughable... Bowen is decent but he's limited against the better teams, Palmer has been one of the best players in the PL. Not taking Grealish is also a big mistake, he keeps the ball and can beat a man..

| I honestly don't think Southgate is a better manager than Farke.
Trent as a 6 is dreadful. Sure, his passing range is world class, but out of possession or with his back to goal, he's clueless. Mainoo or Wharton should be in there. They're young, but they're exactly the type of profile of midfielder you need next to rice.
One thing that hasn't been talked about enough, which I think is really harming England's build up is Pickford. He goes long 90% of the time and the ball just keeps coming back and England gradually drop deeper. He's never let England down, especially in big moments, but England need to move on from him if they want to be better when they have the ball.

| Agree both. I said the same about Pickford last night, he goes long far too often. I do wonder though if that comes from the Manager.. can you imagine likes of Pep, Klopp, Bielsa, Howe, Deschamps etc and the great Spain mangers of the past standing for that from their keeper.. thought Kane's interview was interesting, said they couldn't work out during the game how to press effectivley... i mean what on earth has Soutgate been doing... you never see Stones bringing the ball out either which he does with City... that also must be manager instruction also.. madness.
Bellingham at 8 would give us some power in there too (he also looks leggy though), could have done with resting him for the last group game but no chance of that now.

| Also said something similar about TAA who Roy Keane already said would be found out in midfield against the better teams.
Gallagher for me is not the answer and I too would play Bellingham in midfield with Fodon as the 10.
Palmer and Gordon both should be ahead of Bowen and whilst you cannot ignore Kane both Watkins and Toney would give defenders more trouble.
I was hoping Southgate would take over at MU.

| When you have the likes of Kane, Bellingham Stones, Rice, and Saka, you build your system around them, not shoehorn them in. Let Kane do what he does and play wingers on both sides who can run in behind when Kane drops deep.
Bellingham has just won the champions league by playing as a 10 who makes late runs into the box, get him doing that and get another midfielder next to rice who can control possession. That would certainly not be Gallagher.
