Hardaker on a month's loan might make sense. As a permanent signing? Utterly bonkers given the way he treated the team in 2016, spending the whole time angling for an NRL gig and playing without caring, and then dissing Leeds once he was away. If there was evidence he's grown up then maybe, but if he's done a Gale at Wigan then he clearly hasn't changed.

Wonder how those Pies fans feel now, given when he signed for them after his ban they claimed that somehow the mighty Wigan would sort him out, and he was only being a tool because mean Leeds and nasty Cas didn't treat him right.....

I think there was some inference that Leeds and Cas hadn`t cared for him as they should and that Wigan have spent a lot of time supporting him.
That came from maybe one or two posters on your board.
The reality is all 3 clubs tried their best to support him and I know for certain he was given more chances at Leeds than some other let`s say not as talented as Hardaker in the past.

Taking him out of his environment may have helped him. Yes i was one of those saying that too but not 1 of our posters ever blamed Leeds or Cas as the poster suggested. Hopefully he leaves. Im not a fan. Season long loan to Leeds then off to Wakey or Fev next season would be my guess.

The point about a lack of support prior to Zak joining Wigan was originally made by Ian Lenagan, not the fans.

Took a bit of finding but like you I knew it was Lenagan, fool that he is, who said this:

"It would be easy for us to cut our losses with Zak and deny him the opportunity to play for Wigan but we are not going to do that. Our duty of care as employers is to help Zak address the fundamental problems that he has had for some time - issues that we believe could and should have been confronted already."

Frankly it's a disgrace that lenagan and Wigan have still not addressed these issues.
