| Interesting stat - Cuthbertson has made more carries this season than Kirke made all last year!
I have been nothing but impressed with Cuthbo - we need to get a chant sorted for him.

Now then mate, obviously being 12,000 miles from HQ I don't really pic up the chants on TV. what are you currently chanting? One Adam Cuthbo! That just about works.

| Quote ="FGB"How good was Cuthbertson tonight? Anyone got the offload stats? Turning out to be one of the shrewdest signings in a lot of years.'"
He made 7 offloads going by the stats.
Other things from the stats, whilst Peacock isn't quite the Peacock of old his numbers still look pretty impressive
24 tackles, 0 missed, 17 carries for 149m (8.76 avg.), 0 penalties
Nod to JJB who I think under the radar has done well also this year playing in the middle.
31 tackles and 13 carries for 93m (7.15 avg.)
Noticed Moon only made 5 carries, this along with Ablett seemingly looking reluctant to pass to him for those two chances makes me wonder if they were being cautious about giving him too much ball after his concussion last week......which would beg the question then of why play him?
The most alarming stats though came from Wigan. Both starting props were on the field long enough to make plenty of tackles, Clubb (33) & Mossop (23)......yet they only made SEVEN carries between them the whole game (Clubb 3, Mossop 4)......if you play a game of RL and your starting props only make 7 carries the whole game then you've gone badly wrong.

Whilst Cuthbertson has proved to be a cracking signing thus far we will still need to replace JP and Leuluai or are you suggesting AC carries the pack ala JP has for the last 2/3 years?
'"
Cuthbertson has already replaced Kylie. Kylie and Singleton have taken Kirke and Bailey's spots in the 17. So we don't need to replace both. We'll sign one prop for next season to replace JP, and we'll promote one of Yates, Mulhearn, or Baldwinson to replace Kylie.

Agree - like to see the youngsters get game time ahead of Kylie

| I'd want to see how this Leeds pack goes against someone decent before anointing them. Wigan aren't worth using as a gauge these days. Very poor.
At Saints for instance, Walmsley and Vea individually, made double the metres against Wire, that Mossop, Clubb and Patrick combined put up against you. Amor had more metres than those three combined also. Walmsley averaging over 150m a game.
Been very impressed with Leeds and it's good to see the two classiest clubs in the game back at the top fighting it out. However, as good as Leeds and Cuthbertson have looked, it'd be a brave man that picked against that group of Saints forwards.

| The pack looks a lot better with Cuthbertson, not to mention SIngleton getting more game time due to the addition by subtraction of the two waters that were let go.
Be interesting to see how Yates develops and I've always like the look of Mulhern when I've seen him play.
Hopefully, Baldwinson also develops to match the hype about him as a junior.

| I thought Cuthbertson was a breath of fresh to the game.
A forward who actually looks to offload at every opportunity and can do it.
On the whole two very average packs but Cuthbertson stood out by a very long magin against all the other forwards. I love watching a forward playing like that. It was painful for me to watch but I could still admire it.
Looks like a great signing for you guys. He wil have days when his offloads won't work but for me you need players like him who will take a chance

| They say he has settled in at Leeds and we can see what a great asset he has been to the squad. I suppose that for every dud overseas signing you hope to sign a Cuthbertson. Well done GH on this one.

Maybe the club has learned from that episode?
I believe that Cuthbertson has brought his wife/partner/girlfriend with him which is bound to help him settle down, unless she finds it hard to cope without her family.

Leeds is a great city one of Europes most vibrant. If you like European style city living surrounded by great country side, then you will love living in Leeds, if you only
Like the sun and beach you will struggle. Just the same as and English player who likes high culture, you eillbe bored just sat on manly beach.
Interesting that aston Simms is a massive metal head, well he's gonna love living near manchester, with all the bands he'll get to see,and the big UK music seen.

Cuthbertson's 29, Eastwood was 23(?) I think when he came to Leeds. Bit more mature, bit more worldy wise about living overseas maybe?

| He has good hands, passes as well as offloads. Just shows you that footballers in the front row are a real assett, big men who can take the ball up the middle and keep it alive. If you don't have that option you don't have a balanced attack.
What we lack is someone who can bring the pain. Kylie used to be the one who hit like a lump of concrete, he's done it for years but father time has eventually caught up with the big man. I've always thought that the lower divisions were good places to find big, hard forwards. We need to unearth another Darren Fleary from somewhere and then we will have great options in the front row.
Speaking of tatooed Australians, Delaney looks shot. Am I being harsh or has he finally reached the point where his body has said "enough is enough"?

You knew Eastwood didn't want to be in Leeds. The visa issue and then him playing a year with the Bulldogs in the interim and getting settled in Sydney blew any chance we had of getting 3 years out of him.

| Cuthbertsons performance against Wigan was one of the most enjoyable I have witnessed from a Leeds prop. His offloads are eye catching but his work rate in all other areas of the field are note worthy too.
Also great to see Yates thrown into the action when it was very much game on. Thought he got stuck in and took a few cheap shots well, just got on with it.

That's what happens if you can't get a proper pre-season in. He's the exact opposite of Stevie Ward, who has reaped the benefits of finally being able to put in a couple of months in the gym and out on the training field.
Delaney's going to be playing catch-up for a few weeks, but the only worthwhile way to get him the minutes he needs at the right level of intensity is by playing him in the first team.

Isn't this a contradiction? Stevie has benefited from a couple of months of training and not playing week in week out. Maybe Delaney will benefit from a month of preseaon type training with some games with Hunslet. After all, we're pretty strong in the back row

The work you do in the off-season and pre-season is entirely different to what you do during the year. Pre-season is about building muscle mass and getting miles in the legs, while during the season is about recovery and maintenance.
Ward, with an off/pre-season finally not hampered by shoulder problems has been able to do that. He can maintain now during the season.
Delaney hasn't been able to get that muscle mass on or miles in the legs because of his various pre-season injuries. You could take him out of the first team group and give him a four to six week "mini pre-season" now, but that would mean taking someone from the conditioning staff away from working with the group to do it. Plus the intensity of pre-season isn't necessarily the right preparation to be doing for competitive games.
As for going out on dual-reg, the pace of the game in the Championship is really no preparation for how quickly things move in SL, IMO.

| After the Warrington game where Delaney made his returned he said ideally he would've played a few more games for Hunslet before returning but the injury to Achurch meant he was recalled sooner. We could've always given Walters that bench spot instead. As regards to Delaney, I think he was solid enough on Friday considering he didn't play any RL for 6 months and was rehabing most of the off-season. If several games down the line you're saying the same thing about him then you might have a point.
