| It's great just to sit back & enjoy it knowing the lads involved have the skills and game management to win massive occasions like today. Following the club from the late 80's, I never thought I would ever see a Champion Leeds team like this one.

| Hopefully, we can continue our success long after Sinfield and JP leave the club. In a similar way to the way Barca have done in making themselves "more than a club" in football.

And we don't know when we'll see the like again- it could be next year, it could be 40 years away.
It seems all are in agreement that it's the best since 2005 (at least) and we should enjoy it while it lasts.

| Hard to compare eras, but it's less than 12 months since this side (plus a couple of additions) couldn't buy a win for six weeks and crashed out of the playoffs at home to possibly the worst away side in the competition.
Bit OTT to be describing it as the "best Leeds side ever".

Are you suggesting the coach may have had something to do with the improvement?

| Quote ="nantwichexile"From my perspective of supporting the team since 1978.....I'd say yes. Definitely....
As JP himself said after the game he has been 'blessed' to play in such a great team: similarly we have been 'blessed' to be part of this perhaps never to be repeated era in my lifetime at least. As Printer states we can't expect this to continue forever.....(surely not?). The continued praiseworthy recruitement however continues to gives us every chance.
Replacing Sinfield and Peacock is going to be nigh on impossible though. As McDermott said, they are hardly being carried into their twilight performances. They are both playing at least as well as they have ever done. Incredible.
They built that Wembley statue too early !!!!'"
Agree on that, but who would you have the statue of if you couldn't have both? Sinny or JP. ooooooohhh Theres a question!!

| For mine, what has moved the current side into contention as being the best Leeds side I have watched, is balance. We are not a team noted for just great backs or a dominant pack but rather have quality across the park from 1-17, with plenty of emerging talent pushing through. I am not saying every player is a star or the best in his position, rather that we have strength and quality in the Forwards, backs and Halves. This has been building for years and this year with the addition of Cuthbertson and latterly Garbutt seems to have peaked. With the loss of Sinny and Peacock, this team, this year will be a hard act to follow. Hopefully we can and will.

Well you may not see the connection but I sure do. With the addition of Cuthbertson and more recently Garbutt, McDermott has finally got the mix of skills needed to play the sort of game he wanted to play when he first arrived as head coach.

| I feel what Leeds have at the minute is that we have so many 'danger men' that other teams can't handle us. I think Hull KR shut down Hardaker, Cuthbertson and Ryan Hall quite well; just couldn't shut down all our players.

Both are actually more known for their exploits at Old Trafford more than Wembley......a Leeds Rhinos statue outside Man United's stadium......think they'd go for it? Lol

I don't think anyone has suggested last years side might be our best ever
This years side and last years may have only a couple of differences in personnel but the likes of Hardaker, Ward and Watkins have continued to improve, Aiton has been a different player to last years (illness hit) version and Cuthbertson has completely changed the way the team play.
I agree its hard to compare era's maybe I should have made the question narrower. Could this be the best side of our golden generation?

| Quote ="ThePrinter"One key bit of advice i'd give is ......savor this time.
Hasn't always been this special and surely won't always continue. When I've read the stories of HKR fans just happy to see their team at Wembley, we Leeds fans should remember how lucky we've been for the last 10 years.'"
This.
Ever since the 3-in-a-row of 07,08 & 09 I've thought this way. Before then I was very much on a high when we won and down in the dumps when we lost. But when I knew we'd won in 09 I thought I should savour these moments and this team and this period in the club's history, because I can remember what it was like before then. So I'm very much more chilled out on a Friday night at Headingley now, and I reckon I enjoy it more as a day/night out rather than just the rugby itself.
Finals I still get worked up for, can't completely suppress the emotions.

| A treble would make this team the best team. Is hard to compare eras but to win all competitions would be one hell of an achievement. With how we have played so far this season it almost feels like I will be disappointed if we don't, for the players. 6 games to go, and I hope we can send the boys out on another win

| At the moment no, however I do think it's the most professional and ruthless Leeds team I have witnessed.
When senior, Webb and younger versions of Mc Guire and Sinfield were in their prime we lost games which we should have won.
Not so with the present team, coupled with the fact Brian Mac has a few more seasons under his belt. His game plan for the HKR match was one hundred per cent correct.

| This team is not as good as the 2004/05 team.... Yet. The results in 04 were frightening. 2 defeats, LLS, SL in 04 then WCC in 05 followed by CC final which we lost rather than Hull won, and a GF defeat to the salary cap busting Bulls. We should have scooped the lot in 05. If this team do the treble, they will be the greatest

| It could well be the best Leeds side ever, but Will it be the best Super League side ever? Not according to this Wigan fan
Wind your necks in Whinos! No one cares about the hubcap and Leeds beat a middle 8 team in the Challenge Cup final. This season, 4 games so far: Wigan 2 Leeds 2. Leeds won both games at Headingley with home fans reffing. Grand Final won't be at Headingley lads, so no treble coming your way. The Saints & Bulls teams already mentioned still the only two that can be considered best of Super League era and Wigan only team to be considered best in all of Rugby League history. Leeds? Flash in the pan, soon to disappear now 'Sir Kev' & JP are on their way...

I'm a little confused as to how a club that has dominated the game over the past decade could be classed as 'flash in the pan'. These idiots get worse on a weekly basis.

You'd think with a club as successful as Wigan, that they'd have quite a level headed, knowledgable set of fans, but in truth most are just an embarrassment. It seems the more Leeds win, the more bitter they get, as well as trying to ridicule us to somehow make themselves feel better. I really hope Leeds go on to bray that mob in the Grand Final. Team of grubs.

As opposed to the last time Wigan won the cup, by beating the mighty Leigh, Widnes, Hull KR, London and Hull FC (in the worst final in history).
A softer run to a trophy you couldn't ask for.
