| Throughout every season we have various threads about potential line ups for games many opinons are exchanged by posters on "their 17" for the forthcoming match.
It's made me curious which players posters would consider "Un-Droppable/Untouchable" not rotated but to be untouchable in terms of missing out on selection when fit or moving on at the end of the year!
I think the Coach has made some good and strong calls re-selection but at the same time some howlers with certain players appearing to be selected whether on form or not.
I think its clear we are in a transitional phase with our "Golden era" players and although the outside Backs look to be complete (BJb/Briscoe rumours aside) ther are still some big questions that need answering.
For me when fit Sinfield ,Burrow ,JP ,Jjb ,Delaney ,Hardaker ,Watkins and Hall would come under the category of selection irrespective of form but with leaway RB ,BD and JJb to be put on the bench this could change next year though considering age ,injury etc.
I think with the emergance of Sutcliffe and Ward to return we have some calls to make at HB and LF.
I think Mcshane obviously doesn't seem to be in favour and like Hood i wouldn't be surprised to see him depart so as we know 9 is also an issue aswell as the ageing Kylie ,Kirke ,Moore and out of sorts Bailey.
Who would you class as "untouchable" selection/moving on wise??

Up until this year mate i would agree wholeheartedly but his form prior to injury and even though still lacking match fitness since his return changed my mind.
This was also helped by how well i thought Burrow and Sutcliffe combined at 6 and 7 during his absence.
I think there are some tough calls to be made re-Sinfield ,Burrow ,Mags ,Sutcliffe and when fit Ward for the 6,7,9 and 13 spots.

Did you mean who we think are untouchable or who we think the coaching team believe to be untouchable?
Either way, i agree with your point its very valid.I do think we should, and will stick with him during this play off period.next season we do need to look at giving Sutcliffe a full run in the team even at the expense of Danny if he is not meeting the standards. He has proved he is up to the job, he is a SL standard half back right now and he is only going to get better given regular game time. His progress must not be checked by sentiment or loyalty to certain individuals who are no longer the force they once were.that should aply to everyone and not just Mcguire moving forward from now.

| JP, Sinfield and JJB are untouchables in that you absolutely know they'll finish their careers with us and never play anywhere else. I suppose Kylie fits into that category too by dint of age. McGuire and Burrow are in a slightly different set as you could imagine them, like Webb, Lauititi and if he'd had his way Senior having a swansong somewhere else if they deteriorate and are pushed out of the Leeds team.
Then there's the category of players we definitely would like to be untouchable but might be tempted away from Leeds to the NRL or RU: Hall, Watkins, Hardaker, Ward, Sutcliffe.

| Thought McCoy's was very poor on Saturday but thought at Wigan he was excellent and showed something we had been missing whilst he was out. Let's hope Saturday was just a blip Lee the rest of the team. He must be nervously looking over his shoulder at Sutcliffe though

If you mean McGuire I completely agree. He did play well against Wigan, it seems strange that his performance then wasn't acknowledged at the time.

| Back to topic, Hardaker, Watkins, Sinfield, and Peacock for me. I like Moon also a lot, but would not term undroppable, and Ward when fit would be at the top. Anyone else I could give or take.

| If Moon was dropable (and he should be IMO) then after his last game it'd be deserved. Anonymous.
For me it's no coincidence that Hall has had his worst try return in years stood outside him. Combining the pair on the left's try count so far this year (31) it's a long way short of the haul amassed by Hardaker/Hall prior to Webb's injury and Ablett/Hall after (53)
_____
Can you drop the coach for the remainder of the season please.

To do a fair analysis of that you'd have to work out how often the ball reached the left centre position, factoring in how long after the play the ball it came and in what measure of space. Then compare those algorithms between 2012 and 2013, with further calculations detailing when Lunt was at acting-half and McShane/Burrow/Sinfield.
That might be beyond even your time and inclination, but I'd wager the conclusion would be that if you get them quicker ball, they'd do better.

Where were you a couple of months ago when we had this discussion, I could have used some support? I agree entirely about Moon. Very dissapointing first season IMO. His service is poor and he is far too easily tackled. Creates space then cuts back inside far too regularly. A fairly dangerous runner but far from a complete cenrte and, in all honestly, not as good a left centre as Ablett was last year.
You're wrong about him being anonymous on Saturday. I recall him conceding apenalty on tackle 5 and throwing a ball into touch.

| Think that's harsh on Moon G he's been starved of quality early ball all year in fairness.
I'm not saying he's been brilliant either and indeed he has had some average/poor games as have the whole team but i still think he's shown some very good signs and with the right supply could prove to be a creative big game winner for us.

I can't believe the sports bra I sent you never arrived. Bloody Royal Mail, no wonder it's getting privatised.

Both in the opening four minutes, IIRC. It would be interesting to see how many times Leeds compound an error with a penalty in the following set - seems to happen all the time ..... especially from Jones-Buchanan.
Leeds only conceded three penalties in total on Saturday and two of them followed not completing on their own set of possession.

I smell tvoc agendas. Moon is a very good centre. His 21 tackles at Warrington were hardly "anonymous" He is I think our top tackling back making more than a 100 more tackles than Watkins. He has made just one less try assist than Watkins in over 20% less carries. I note your stats do not record that Moon is 2nd equal (with Hall) top try scorer.
It is no coincidence either that Hall has has a very mixed season with long periods out of form. Hall comfortably heads the handling error table with 41 so far this year and has been far from sharp often over running Moon and often coming out of the line to make a missed tackle too. You mention Webb who used to join the line on our left as a 2nd stand off to create regular overlaps for Hall. With our current full back this just doesn't happen and who produces far fewer try assists. Add to this a season of out of form McGuire too and it is no wonder our backs have not seen much quality ball as before.
To form a judgement on flaky coincidences is on a par with those positional superstitions.

Is this the JJB that made 35 tackles, 11 carries and no penalties at Warrington?
