Joffy is a talented lad, just needs games and to find his position. Brilliant result for us. Takes pressure off us a bit but yes big chance to get some real daylight between us and the rest
Reports in Germany saying Leverkusen are in for Buendia on loan. Villa want an obligation to buy, so it's not agreed yet. But Leeds are also in for him, and could still get him if they manage to agree a fee depending on promotion. I doubt he drops to the championship, though.
Geldhart for me was the best striker and finisher at the club. He just didn’t fit the brief for a centre forward nowadays that spends 99% of his time outside the box. He would have been great pre 2010 as part of a big man / little man combo such as Quinn/Phillips , Toshack/Keegan or Chapman/Rod Wallace. I hope he does well at Hull and finally starts enjoying the game. Was great to see the poison dwarf spitting his bile after the game and moaning about the 50/50’s as usual. Wilder is a poor man’s Warnock without the character.
[quote="tad rhino":3us7w98d]not sure he was the best striker and finisher but he is immensely talented.
he's never found a proper position but I wish him every success at hull.[/quote:3us7w98d]
I don’t see the real competition from anyone currently playing at Elland Road in the finishing stakes. If Geldhart had the 3 or 4 chances Piroe had on Wednesday night against Norwich at least one would have been nestling in the back of the net. Piroe was painfully slow with all those chances, we all know Joseph has not lived up to expectations and Bamford’s finishing over the last couple of years has been erratic and downright poor at times. Geldhart has better feet than all of them in the box and is more instinctive as a finisher. Like I said before though, he couldn’t do enough outside the box for Farke to ever get a sniff.
