If I was analysing based on one game you might have a point.
Against the French he looked no better than the likes of Ferriol, and he's hardly what you would call a world class front rower. Off the back of a disappointing World Cup personally and collectively in terms of performances he needed to make a mark against the Aussies. As it was, Tony Smith spared him by dragging him off when he did IMO.
Compared to the likes of Burgess and Crabtree he's looking sluggish and leaden footed in attack and defence - time and a heavy club workload have taken away the explosiveness you need to be a success at international level.
It's no coincidence that the two front rowers who have put in the most game time over the SL season - JP and James Graham - both looked sluggish on Saturday IMO.
