Ok, tvoc but is that not like a vote of confidence statement from the board, and a week later the manager goes!

Assuming Peter Smith hasn't just made it up, it appears to be a direct quote from Francis Cummins on the said rumour doing the rounds. What people read into it is a matter for themselves.

Personally I take it at face value.
