| Come on cas fans lets get behind millward. He is trying to instill a professional culture to ourggreat club.its the players letting us down not him. The players attitude has to be questioned.
The players do not seem bothered about their performances on the field. Lets get rid of chase and get somebody who is more bothered about playing than going out on the drink

It's amazing how the players showed a lot more effort under Matterson...Millward is the problem, a new coach is needed - getting rid of the best player in the team is NOT the answer and suggesting such is absurd.
If you want to question anybodies attitude - question Millward's, his pig headed attitude has turned players not only against him but the club, he is the problem and he is ruining the club.

| The trouble is some of the players are at the end of contracts and arnt worth renewing. Then you have the situation where some players are out on the lash according to some. Now if you think Millward should let players get away with being on the lash somethings wrong. If you want to see what being out on the lash does then take a look at boxing and Kirkland Laing. What a gifted boxer who beat the great Duran when at the top the guy should have been talked about as the greatest ever but alas being on the lash was his downfall. The other thing is how much would it cost to pay Millward out if you sacked him.As at Wakey Im not convinced Agar has it but you have to give them a chance to the end of next season.

Paying off Millward would be well worth the price of missing out on a couple of players that year, addition by subtraction.
The club has been set back 3 years (at least) on the pitch already under this idiot.

Disagree with you Gronk. We have so many players coming off contract this year who are either retiring (Orr?, Jackson, Jones, Hudson, Youngquest), players who know they won't get a new deal at the club (McGoldrick, Snitch, Griffin) or players that were leaving at the end of their contracts (Arundel, Ferres) that they're not going to give 100%. I think Millward should be judged on next season when he has had a chance to bring in some of his own signings. We have got to be positive about the signings of Shenton, Webster, Ellis and Gilmour with more to come. I think we still lack a "Willie Manu" type second row forward, 2 wingers (one if we sign Rhys Williams) and a loose forward. Let's get behind the club, starting with Sunday's game v Huddersfield

| Stick with Millward and you will be competitive next season He will have his own players in that want to get better and will work with him and not be doing things that Puts your club in the lime light for all the wrong reasons ( there's worse to come you all no that ) If things change at work you got to change with them if you are proud at what your doing. Big contract players to go Millward brings in his own you will play well then all this season will be forgotten about

| we played a winger at fullback another winger at centre a secondrower at centre another secondrower at halfback and a srumhalf at hooker.
With a onloan player and a junior playing on the wings also when we had two perfectly good wingers available, looking at that line-up i made a prediction.
We won't be able to string two passes together and we won't score more than 10 points.
I went to work lastnight without seeing any of the match and came home to see i was spot on..
There is a reason you need a fullback two wingers two centres a standoff a scumhalf a hooker two props two secondrowers and a loose forward in your side maybe someone should explain that to Millward.
That wasn't even a rugby league team we put out on the pitch.
Nobody on this forum will ever convince me Millward is a good coach!

| So is it basils fault that half the team dont even attempt to tackle around the legs and go for the flapping arms up top approach which just gets shrugged off from the opposition. Come on get real half the players cant be bothered and just want the season to end. If I was basil I would drop the dead wood and put in some under 20's who would try their best. I dont mind getting beat if the team give 100% but at present that is not the case so give someone else a chance basil.
I think next season will be a different story and with the signings weve made if we dont make the top 8 I would be suprised.

| 'If' and I do mean 'IF' it is the players fault and not Basil's, why hasn't the guy got the balls or self respect to sack half of them with immediate effect. It's just a matter of saying you...you and you, I don't care when your contract ends...your not pulling your weight...you've been given more than a fair chance and I'm not having you pulling the rest of the team down....(Lord Alan Voice)...YOU'RE FIRED!
Go to the U20's and say who can you give me for the remainder of the season? Get on the phone to Brierley and say...I've been under a lot of criticism for not playing you in certain key games.....well here's you're big chance.
I'd have more respect for the guy if he had the balls to do this. Otherwise.....he's just a toothless Tiger! A coach with no power, no respect and seemingly no clue!
....and I dread to think what scrutiny he will come under if things get off to a bad start next year, or will it be...well he needs time for the team to gel etc etc.

Most cas fans want this season to end.
Who's job is it to motivate the players?
You really think a 34 year old second rower who probably isnt in the top 20 back rowers in the competition, an injury prone centre (who when he plays is good but not in the top 10 centres in the competition), a half back that has played hardly any sl and has just been let go by a sl side and shenton (who is a good signing) are going to make us go from the worst season we have had in sl to a top 8 team??
Not to mention the fact we will lose youngquest, arundel, jones, hudson, mcgoldrick, jackson, ferres and possibley, snitch, orr, chase and clark, and will have to replace these players with a smaller budget due fans turning away in droves while also having to pay over the odds because no one wants to play for us with milward in charge.
Is that really the recipe for sucess? get your players not wanting to play for you, scrap all tactics, have a smaller squad and budget, put players off signing for you, drive fans away and sign injury prone/unproven/close to retirement players? If it we will be sucessful next year no doubt.

| The players have had an easy ride for the past 5/6 years. Training barely 3 hours per day ,4days per week. Getting p1553d whenever they want and basically been allowed to act like a pub side. A new coach has come in and is trying to put things right , and of course these players can't handle this culture shock. It's a bit like the wife letting the dog kip on the sofa all week and then I come home and kick it off at the weekend ...........it bites me !!!!
Maybe it's time to put a few down !!!

You have a fair point, When Matterson announced he was leaving i seem to remember one of the senior players said to the media that the players were hoping Andy Hay got the job...in other words an easier life for them on the training pitch.
I will give Basil some credit in trying to put in a more professional structure in place in regards to training and diet.
if i have one problem with Millward he maybe should have been a little more diplomatic and less bullish...he seems to forget he isn't a pundit now.
However the swift move of mcgoldrick out of the door will be food for thought for the players....in other words a kick up the arris!.

Hope you're right. I do think the problem this season is more down to the players than to Millward and I stand by what I've said that the players should be reminded by the board Millward is the coach until at least the end of 2014 and if they don't like it then they know where the door is. I for one want to see what happens when his methods come to fruition and wouldn't mind seeing the back of anybody that's getting in the way of that.
