True but i wouldnt mind betting that we leapfrog a few sides in that department in the last round.

Although i dont think we will lose to Celtic, i wouldn't write it off as being a walk over

What worries me most about Matterson is the way he bangs on about defence being the key and how we work on this the most, yet when you look at the tonking we got off Leeds and then our 3rd worst defence in the league it doesn't make for good reading

I for one would not like to see Steady back at Cas, he ruined a lot of good work by Raper and also ruined his own reputation in the process. I wouldn't like to think he had a hand in anything that the team does in the future

I think he will have moved on a bit since then, and think he as a lot to offer as a back up coach. as a player he had a good kicking game and could play a bit too.

The problem with Steady appeared to be recruitment/management of players rather than coaching. I always thought that if he was presented with a squad he would work it effectively eg the hammering his unfancied Yorkshire team gave Lancashire at Odsal some years back.
Anyway we hardly seem to have one of the strongest backrooms in SL so an extra bit of experienced support for TM wouldn't hurt.

we dont want ronnie back we wouldnt have a player left after round 4, they would all either be in the head bin or banned but having said that we dont want steadman back either, karl harrison would be my bet.

If we had Ronnie back none of the teams we had played would be able to raise a team either!

At the time Steady was one of the boys. He might be different now because the players aren't the ones he used to play with, but i think i'd look for another defensive coach first before opting for Steady.

Steady would be a great choice. He should never have taken over when he did it was too much too soon. But now he has great experiance from the girls version of rugby plus he's a Cas legend.
