Would this be a good idea to help TM get our defence to what it needs to be?

Let's get a kicking coach in as well in that case. The amount of conversions Dixon has missed is shocking.

We should have a substitute coach. Someone who knows when to make them, who to take off and and who to replace them with. We were OK yesterday for 10 minutes until we started making changes.

Im not gona have a go at dicko yeah hes not best kicker in comp but he has had some hard kicks from sideline cos of were we score our tries.

Dont get me wrong he has missed a few sitters but that happens to everyone

I would be more concerned with defence if we didnt ship as many points the missed conversions wouldnt mean as much.

We defenitaly need help in the defensive side of our game, TM for sure is a good attacking coach, but he needs to drill some composure into our game and needs help with the defence.
Dicko needs to be given credit IMO nearly every try weve scored this year as been on the touchline but still he's 4th best kicker in the SL and the highest point scorer in SL overall. The only thing that worries me are his pressure kicks, but you cant teach that anyway

TM is a good attacking coach?



With the exception of the 3 games prior to this debacle, our defense has been e--that is the responsibility of the coach we have, if he can't get that right then he should not be in the job.

This season we have had plenty of possession in the right area of the field and enough chances to put teams away. Our attack has let us down big time. we score lovely tries, real nice to watch, but we cannot put pressure into points. This is a trademark of TM. 2006 was a great example. Loads of pressure, a great pack and not enough points to show for it



As for Kirk, he has been outstanding this year, we cannot score a try near the posts, we don't have the game plan to do it, so the resulting conversions are often from out wide-percentages are misleading

It would help Dixon if you got your posts straightened out at the away end

We need a general play kicking coach

The amount of times we have kicked out on the full on our own pitch is ridiculous. And then when we're meant to kick it out on the full, we can't!!

It really is an embarrasment and something that should never happen on your own pitch

We need everything even straighter posts.

What about new burger vans and a new sweet stall for the kids?

And yes he is, we play some of the best attacking rugby in the league, havent you noticed.

Exactly up until we started getting injuries we were the top points scores in SL.

After the Fax game our defence had picked up. It's just the second half of this game we struggled and of the tries scored against us 2 were interceptions which has nothing to do with our defence and 1 was when we were down to 12 men and the extra man told out wide.
Now I'm not saying every things fine and I wouldn't complain if a defensive coach was brought in, but the players have shown that they are able to improve their defence. Just looks like they need reminding fairly often.

Personally i think think if we brought in a top defence coach for next year and about 5 qaulity players while releasing a couple we would be a top 6 team (barring a major, hullesque injury crisis). I hope we keep most of the young players of this sqaud (shenton, huby, boyle, westy, higgins, owen, netherton, ferres and jones) together for the forseeable future they have shown what they can do and will only get better through experiance and familiarity with one another. Leeds played a bunch of young players under Powell and perceviered even when things werent going their way, and because of it they have the 2nd best team in sl.

As i've stated lovely to watch, but we don't convert pressure into points. A common failing os Cas in SL under TM



Not a good idea to get a defensive coach. We've proven we can defend, the problem is consistency

At the begining of the season when werent missing key players we scored more points than anyone in sl that was true for about 8 games or so, so we can convert pressure into points, but only when we have key personel playing and and experianced captain leading us. once again this leads back to our lack of depth, tm is working with a smaller budget than most of the clubs in sl, yet we can still win 50% (well just off) of our games, if he could spend up to the salery cap, we would be top 4.

i would be amazed if he didn't already have a defensive speacialist boxed checked. thing is you can only work on 1 aspect at a time for rapid improvement or do alot of things gradually.

Your coach is doing fine. More than fine. He'll sort out what needs to be sorted out.

From memory, those first 8 games, yes we scored a few, but then we lost against Quins(no Sherwin) and lost against the Giants despite having the lions share of possession and field position. The other games, Salford apart we were hardly hammering teams. Even the Pies away, we should have been out of sight but weren't and they nearly made us pay. We have continued to get good field position and plenty of possession since those first 8, with the exception of the HKR game, yet we have not scored anything like the number of points we should have.

Yes, we are currently missing Key players, Hudson more than anyone in my book, but the coach keeps putting the tried, tested and failed combinations in key positions. We've got a while to manage without Shifty and Hudson, time to try something different

What different combinations you suggest because with so few players you can only shuffle them round so much (and the more you shuffle them round the more detrimentle to the team it will be).

Owen is easily tough enough and always shows how sharp he is running from dummy half. This would also provide a contrasting style to Netherton.

Hooker might be a position of two much responsibility for a young player like owen especially since he has never played there before (as far as i am aware). It would also mean we lose our fastest winger. Personally i would like to see us sign rinaldi for the rest of the season when his contract runs out (which is pretty soon i believe) giving us cover in the halfs and at hooker.
