This looks like one of those signings that will either be brilliant, or disaster.

I doubt there will be much inbetween. With a young family is he likely to move? I doubt it, which means pressure either on travel, or worse staying away from home a couple of days a week - which is equally trying.

Good luck to the bloke, he deserves all he can get after the service he's given Saints....... they really show other clubs how to be ruthless don't they!

We're far from "Unlucky" by signing Sean Long, in fact on the whole we're seeing it as a good signing and gives us exactly what we need.

The lad has past it, thats why Saint's only offered a one year deal, anyway good luck to Hull if it pays off.

I can't see him upping sticks and moving his missus and kid(s?) to Hull for the sake of two years.

On his day Long can still be the best 7 in super league

It is a gamble with his age but that brings the experience we need to guide us around the park which we have been missing for some years now

There is no issues with Visa and he is looking at houses within the Hull area; there is hardly an excess of half backs with his talent, leadership skills and experience at the minute

In my eyes its a great signing

To be honest i couldnt care less about long, but what i do care about is that as soon as sherwin is lame, we dont have a half back as such, Rangi had a good game against Shudds, but we do need cover desperately in this area
