I think most Fev fans are too young to remember the Slatter/Johnson incident. FWIW, it was far worse than the "Chase Elbow". Be under no doubt, I find foul play of any kind, by anybody abhorrent.

I assume you are referring to the almost spear tackle by Briggs. Live, I thought it was bad and that Briggs was lucky to get off with just a penalty. Having watched it back on Sky+ though, you can clearly see that upon realising that your man had gone beyond the horizontal, they put him back down safely and no harm was done.

Most Cas fans haven't got a problem with Fev, they won the game fair and square and we will wish them the best of luck against the cheating pies.

Didn't make myself clear....the absurdity was the view that lacking Chase would be good for Cas. We dont just over-rely on Chase. Such is the dearth of attacking skill in our squad that we are totally dependant upon him to the extent that many (myself included) doubt our ability to score enough points to win any SL game without him.

As regards the Briggs incident I didn't actually classify it as a spear tackle because there was no downward force and to be honest the way our guy was lifted suggested to me that there was never an intention to apply any. So just a case of lifting beyond the horizontal and penalty sufficient.

BTW nice of you to take time out from slagging off Cas fans on the Wigan board to enlighten us.

The Cappers have set up a fund/charity through a bank account to go to Ropati whilst he is on the sidelines. Don't they do injury insurance in Fev ? I think its getting a bit OTT this.

I agree. There is no way anyone should be playing rugby league, either professional or amateur, that does not have some form of insurance that covers them for loss of earnings through injury. As far as I know it's compulsary for amatuer clubs to have insurance.

I thought Ropati was one of the four Fev players who is full-time. If so, he will be getting his wage anyway + fund money + insurance. Seems strange to me.

According to BBC website, Ian Millward says "Rangi Chase was 'extremely upset' after the incident that left Rangi Topati (??) with a broken jaw.

I'm sure we all feel poor Roger's pain at this difficult time for him.

I'd like to see players who injure others with foul play be banned for the length of the injury, and then serve their 3 game ban (or whatever they get) when the player returns. That would cut foul play, poor techniques and general thuggish behaviour.

This may surprise you, but there are people who don't like seeing players get injured, regardless of who they play for. But I don't think for a minute you have that mentality. But then again, the fact that even Cas fans dislike you speaks volumes.

OTT i doubt it , its about looking after your own.Dont know the ins and out of the insurance but im sure it wont pay out too much going by my past experiences.I as well dont like seeing players injured by mindless viloence this includes my own team Fev.
