I enjoyed the game but for me the way we played as a team impressed me, plenty of passing at the right time. I know it's the first game but we need to watch the blind offloads as better teams could punish us. Some promising moves done today and all the "new boys" looked comfortable in the team. The highlight of the day has to be Leigh loosing at Batley

Thought we looked so crisp today. Maybe we overplayed a few things, but rather that than Harrison's up the middle garbage. As a team we look like one really solid unit. Very impressed

Stating the obvious but I was particularly impressed with our left side attack. Also our new signings all contributed well to an excellent team performance, lots of team spirit evident too

For a first game that was good, very good and we played as a team with some solid defence.
Of course we were rusty in some areas and one or two silly offloads but we played some good stuff and probably could have scored more!
Well done Steve Tyrer on equalling the club record of 32 points in one match especially getting 4 tries.
Gareth Moore gave us a lot more options and played well his kicks were good and now not everything has to go through Scott.
Dane Manning was great as well.
It will be a lot tougher at Sheffield we know but roll on Friday night.

Great team effort, Tangata's impact was immediate with his first run busting their defence, he looked really quick today. Smeaton looked decent and will improve and Sharp deserved his try. Agree that Moore gave us an extra dimension so that will make us harder to shutdown, I guess Haven didn't have RM figured out today.

Started as we finished last season, Haven did not get a look in. It will be a lot tougher next week but with so much talent in the squad and still to come in we will keep progressing as the season goes on. Today simply too big, too strong, and too quick for Haven.

That was impressive for a first league game run out. GFB has it spot on with the too big/strong/ fast comment . We won the impact and the ruck area. That gave our halves loads of time and room. That won't be the case next week -that will give us a better indication as to where we are at. New signings have added value to the team and once again team spirit was very evident. Pity we couldn't nil them

Please dont all shoot me down for being 'negative'- I think to score over 50 points in bad conditions and in the first game of the season is fantastic.

However...

Watching the highlights back online, the Whitehaven defence is absolutely woeful, cant remember seeing a side with such an inability to complete a tackle.
As I say, Im not being negative, just asking for perspective, we were very good, but they were awful.

Don't consider your honest appraisal negative but, you can only play what's in front of you.
In the second half Tyrer and Sharp bombed two certain tries, at least 8 more points.

With it been the first game its hard to see where both teams are at. Maybe we were just a total class above Haven and they will turn out to be not bad this season or like you say they were woeful and we had nothing to beat. Friday should give us a better indicator and we have to try and put right the wrongs of last year at Sheffield.

I thought first was out of the question but thought we had a chance of nicking 2nd but after yesterday if we can be consistent through the season you never know.

Good points and it shows that we have a really good depth to our squad. We will obviously start picking up injuries to players but I think that we have every position covered well.
