| Two forwards on trial as RM trys to cover the void that Jacob Fairbank unfortunately left.Neither appears to have any real pedigree.Noticed in the rugby press our friend nosey Parker estimated our support at Wakey as 1300 of the 2100 attendance..

| Where has this information come from?
If we have signed them then welcome to the club. In RM we trust and I do, more than any other coach we have had in the past few years.

| League Weekly has Ed Barber as a half back who was playing at Huddersfield Rugby Union and had previously been at Swinton so Marlon Billy would know him.
Andy Hunsworth can play prop or second row, he has played for Rochdale and has had a spell playing for Queensland club side Sarina Crocodiles.
Both are young lads 25 and 22 respectively, have a good pedigree and are been given a chance to show what they can do.

| Yeah, net sure about the standard not being that great. Most of the passes go straight to the receiving player without him having to reach forward or back, or to pick it up from his bootlaces or jump in the air for it.
RM hinted at "core skills" being lacking in his Sheffield post-match interview, and I think getting the ball moving at speed across the line could reap massive dividends for us.

| We're well into RM's tenure now and if some of our players haven't got the core skills he wants to have a look at the coaching methods and if that's not the problem he needs to ship certain 'coreless' players out. I still think we are on the right track and Sheffield was the first time we have been well beaten but we need to turn the other narrow losses into wins.

| In reality it shouldn't be up to RM to teach core skills all players should have these as a starting point, worryingly how can these people be classed as rugby players if they do not possess these basic abilities. Personally I see this as a direct result of Sky and moving to the 10 metre rule, this changed the whole game into a power match rather than one where skills and guile were used to create openings. Sky needed this as they could not follow the ball whereas now most teams run pretty straight and direct lines, sorry to hijack the Fax forum for a rant on the modern game.

| Think you will find many academy players as well as a number of Pro players sadly are lacking in a few areas of core skills. I know of some academy coaches that basically are having to teach some basics to a number of players. They have the raw talent but sadly the basic skills are simply not good enough. Many players dont even know a lot of the rules- see James Graham for example after he admitted he didnt know a particular ruling when penalized. So I understand why RM says some players are lacking in the core skills department.
Its OK saying ship players out but firstly they often are under contract and may not want to leave. Secondly its rare you are going to find good replacements in mid season- especially when many SL Clubs are being forced rightly to use a few of their youngsters. RM for me is in a tough position that sees players that he didnt sign and maybe knew little about before coming here and forced in to using them and sadly cant bring in his style of player as the club neither has the money or the availability of signing better quality players or even players that RM wants. Whether people like it or not, this year is one where we just have to go with what we have and hope that with our small squad we dont get too many injuries. I think next year is the time to start judging and making comments about things. Sadly thats just the way things are. Some people have had enough which is understandable and will find other things to do. Its just a shame that they still feel they need to talk the club down without really giving RM a fair chance.

Once again a superb post, I am very disappointed with this season so far and perhaps I will be at the end of the season, but, we need to keep the faith.
Let's keep going, keep the faith, please.

| I agree that is unfair to criticise RM too much as he has to play with the cards he was dealt. He has been tasked with entertaining; but we don’t have enough quality ball players to really do that. And maybe at times we should have stuck to using the pack more whereas we have tried to spin in it out too much, the Fev game comes to mind where I thought we had the beating of them down the middle but tried to force it wide too much.
We have to face it that we are currently stuck with the legacy of KH. The board stuck with him far too long and then worse, when they decided to let go it was not until they had let him recruit the team for this year. Trying to make a KH style team play attacking rugby is a tough ask.

Spot on, entertaining rugby does not mean you always have to throw out the ball every chance you get, a knockonathon is the most unentertaining spectacle.

RM says he is very, very quick and hints that he and the others could be given a run out sometime over the next couple of weeks.
