The funniest thing for me is that I know a few Super League supporters at work (season ticket holders, regular supporters), and the majority of them didn't have a clue that any of this was going on!!

I think I've quadrupled my total posts on the VT - the SL contingent don't have a clue!

Amazing how they can predict what is going to happen to every club in that 2nd middle eight playoff. No one has a clue about funding yet. We know that championship clubs will be at home vs SL opposition. Everyone is digging up Challenge Cup battles. This isn't the Challenge Cup. It's a whole new ball game.

It's a new road we're travelling on because some SL clubs have crashed and spilled their loads on the other previous roads. This is all their doing.

wonder how they will decide who gets relegated from SL at the end of this season.

If the SL clubs are away at the Championship clubs at least 1 of them will only play 1 home game from 7 ,how will that work?

At last common sense has broken out! I really did believe the game was going to implode in the not too distant future. My expectations are now that P&R is back, is that both sponsors and spectators will return to the game over time as clubs have meaningfull games throughout the season. Humble pie time for all the supporters of the now defunct franchise system and well done to those who spoke up for the good of the game to now help it move forward. Over to what happens on the field now - come on Fax let's seize the day and get back to the future!!!!!

Great decision for the likes of us lot in the championship.
We have all worked hard over the last few years and now have a chance to progress.

What is going to happen player wise now though?

A lot more money for Championship clubs, ambitious clubs will need to improve their squads, how will they do this? Competing for middle to lower ranking Super League players through higher wages? Then ambitious clubs will try to poach their own better players so their wages will creep up.

I just see this leading to wage inflation for middle to lower rank SL players, and the better championship players.

The RFL never said that. They said that the Championship clubs would have four home games and the $uperleague clubs three.

I wasn't in favour of the status quo, but i'm not sure this is a good idea.

Ah right. I only saw the four home ties bit. So how will they decide who plays home/away?

There is no easy way of doing this as a straight one up one down won't work as you cannot jump from a part time club to full time and vice versa the gap in finances is too wide, this way round the ambitious Championship clubs can reap the benefit of doing well by getting more money if they finish in the top 2 (if the SL greedy gits agree to this) plus the 'play off' games will have real meaning and should get decent gates so higher income and the biggest one of all the league positions and play offs will have some meaning as there is at last something to play for!!!
That is the biggest thing in RL today getting back that interest from fans as well as getting rid of a system that was riddled with corruption and manipulation.

Toulouse in and SL sides relegated, I'll believe it when its actually happened, The RFL generate zero confidence in me to follow up on anything other than whats in the interests of key board members and affiliates. A lot can happen between now and 2015.

Once again the RFL and clubs show they have no idea on how to get the game going forward again. 12x2 and 3x8 is just a stupid concept and does nothing to even look at trying to solve some of the major issues within the game. It offers a small hope for Fax and Fev, but the information is poor at best on how things exactly will work. Salary Cap? Academy and U23s? Minimum standards- not that there were any in SL since 2009!!.

I expect this system to last a couple of seasons before the Clowns then decide on another change to keep people happy instead of looking at sorting the major issues in the game out. It does nothing for me and I still cant see much of a future for our game with such decisions being made.

I think the League Express editorial suggestion by Martyn Sadler was the best option, though never put on the table. I would think that though as I emailed it to him last summer, in my suggestion one team would be promoted every two years and promoted teams would know they had two years in the top flight. They would also go up one year after winning promotion so they could prepare and compete on level terms for players, not ideal but the one that gave promoted teams a chance to plan and a chance to thrive.
