Regardless of whether you are new or old to this team, please read on:

After a quiet 2010, I am attempting to get the CRL ball rolling a bit this year. I have a few fixtures lined up, and plenty of the 'usuals' are happy to get involved.

This is purely intended as a bit of a laugh as it always has been, going way back to 2002 with the inception on the old IMBRL tournaments. As I am not based in Fax, I will struggle to organise any 'training', though with the games we have planned, we need not worry too much about that.

1) Can anyone who has previously played for the CRL team, who has not received a text off me in the last week please respond to this thread either in reply or P.M letting me know your current number. [i(I have sent texts to everyone I could think of, so if I know you, I've probably not got your current number, or you've not replied)[/i

2) If anyone is interested in playing for this team, who hasn't previously, again, please P.M me. In a nutshell it is a tag team made of up Halifax fans that play against other RL teams fan groups. Some RL palying experience is probably useful, though not vital. There is no age limit as such, but I can't think of anyone younger than 17/18 ever playing for us, so we'll use that as a guide for age.

3) All future threads on the CRL team will go on in the 'Halifax Community RL' board (click on board index and its near the bottom in the IMBRL section).

Think you need to check your history there Sammy. I was playing for the orginal IMBRL side at the age of 13/14. Pretty sure Haighy was playing at 16 as well.

Ok. Bit of a fail by the sounds of it.

We didn't really play any proper games until summer 2003 though, and the game has evolved a lot more in the last few years.

So, my age-fail aside, we'll call the cut-off for now, 17/18.

IMO, it has evolved for the worse since the RFL got hold of it. The friendly we played at Hull in November(?) was played to the older laws, and it was a bloody good game. TBH, it was FUN. The RFL took that away and gave us Mark Wynn from Rochdale.

The RFL took hold of something and made is worse!? Get out of it. I can't see them doing that.

I have since retired from the irish dancing running technique, I can confirm!....

When it was the TML in 2008 and 2009 that was its peak. James is right in what he says, that combination essentially ruined a lot of hard work from our own Pete, and a few others from around the other 'core clubs'. Its a just a series of tournaments these days which is a shame......

Anyway, at least 6 games all but sorted for 2011....

With the first one being an extremley 'retro' fixture. An evening game vs Leeds L.L's at Morley!!! (details to follow soon hopefully!)

I think I have a pic of the Fax physio when she was 15/16. She had come along to support her favourite tag rugby player at a game v Leeds at Morley. Dunno if I dare put it up. Wouldn't want to face her wrath.
