Looking forward to this one a lot! Feels like an age since we last played. Hoping for an excited hard contested game, hope the lads are 'training' well this week in the sun. Though I hear they're not all there, so not a complete squad training together out there. Also heard a couple have been locked up over there. Might hinder the team selection come sunday.

Just not great preparation, especially with the prospect of 3 games in a week now with the Whitehaven mid week fixture.

If we beat batley then is the whitehaven not irrelavent ?. Send some of the youngsters for a run out ! Cant afford injuries if its not a game we need to win then send a weaker squad, Got some big games coming up soon in the league and this is more important.

Yeh totally agree, gunna have to try and play our strongest team against Batley and go all out for the win. But with poor prep this week that's gunna be tough. If we don't win this Sunday we're gunna have to go a long way midweek for a win which would be a struggle after only 2days rest and coming off the back of what sounds like a week long booze up for most of the squad! Granted we could afford to field a weaker more experimental side against Cas LL so that could give a few players needed rests.

not sure how the draw works, if is on league placing then it does matter, if not can send weakened team(not really weakened as rest of squad can have run out)

Why should we put any offers on for Super League Supporters? we'd be better trying to attract new fans to Rugby League, who could potentially support the club far more than on a sunday when there main team isnt playing.

Go on then, Fax_RL, enlighten us, where do you get your inside information from? The team go away to a dry weather training camp and you tell us it was a week long booze up, some of the team are still there in Jail and Worrincy couldn't afford to go. You seem to be either remarkably well informed or, more likely being a new forum member, a malicious FCHT supporter.

Never said anyone was still there locked up, and its fact that a few weren't able to go for various reasons. Work commitments, financial difficulties whatever, my point being the whole team not been together for training and match prep for a full week is not that great. Doesn't matter where I've heard things from, hopefully I'll be proved wrong come Sunday and the trip will have been worthwhile for everyone. I was just expressing my personal concerns, nothing malicious in that and I'll be there Sunday hoping for a good performance regardless!

As I have said on another thread, (who let the dogs out) Frank and Rob had work commitments this week. I saw them both at Triangle Primary school where they were doing development work.
As for Fax RL's other nonsense that they were getting drunk, I was fortunate to spend most of the Sunday afternoon after the away game at Toulouse with the players, Mike and Malcolm and yes there was drinking, plenty of laughs but excellent behaviour. I very much doubt this has been anything other than a serious training and bonding session.
After all, would the coaching staff and players jeopardise Sundays game knowing there are plenty of people like Fax RL waiting for the first slip up.

I have very few doubts that we will win, although I do believe we've made it tough for ourselves. The traveling, lack of whole squad prep, training on a surface and in weather conditions that will be nowhere near what they will be getting back to on Sunday. The pitches here aren't going to firm up for at least a couple of months yet. I don't believe anyone wants to jeopardise anything, thats not what im getting at all. I don't doubt any of the players or coaching staffs commitment to the club, they've all proved that!

Allegations of Fax squads on the lash are nothing new. Who could forget the New Years day game at Swinton in 1986 when we were loosing at half time and Cavill Heugh beat them virtually on his own and all the other members of the team that day voted him Man of the Match.There were plenty of allegations of previous nights partying or the year after in the first round of the Challenge cup at London Crusaders when after overnighting in London we struggled against a determined side in the first half but went on to win the cup that year. My point is that Chris Anderson new when it was Game head time and when to cut the players some slack and he wasn't a bad judge
