I would have thought that Ben's poor condition would have been picked up in the pre season assesments or was he unable to partake in any of them because of his foot injury

I'm not in the "he's crap" camp; new players take different amounts of time and effort to settle; granted some of his body language hasn't gone down to well, and can be interpretted as a lack of effort;

Fans are fickle and I dont think it will be long before the doubters are singing his praises...

Ill give him a couple of games to impress. If he doesnt then i reckon hes totally past it and the acquisition I would deem regrettable

Needs to get his fire back, once he does hell be fine, although im worried that maybe the injuries and surgery are playing a part too, hes looked sluggish and gassed pretty early in his game time. fingers crossed for him and everyone he can turn it round, the old Makali would be a massive asset.

A fit and on form Makali is what we need if we are to take a s/l scalp in the CC and get to another GF

We will need all the big names playing on top form.

I am quietly confident he will come good.

Not sure how many times he trains but going from full time training to part time may not be enough for him perhaps, just a thought.

he needs sending out on loan to get his match fitness back, he didn't play much last year and missed preseason so he needs game time, if hes not in our 17 get him out on loan for a month, weren't some more of our players supposed to be going to Rochdale?

I certainly hope so, I paid £175 for his kit and would like to see it get a few appearances.

It's all part of the grand plan. We peaked far too early last year, and this time we're going to at our best at the business end of the season. Here's hoping(!), and for what it's worth, I'm enjoying life as a Fax fan in the Championship much more than losing (nearly) every week in SL (1998 apart).

i understand enjoying winning games and seeing good rugby (which we all know is more enjoyable to watch in this division) but it can be done just look where clubs like hull and hull kr have been since they went up and then theres huddersfield who have been to 2 finals and i think will win the super league in the near future

Makali looked good today. Took the ball in great made a few breaks, no errors either. Might be just coming good.

The Cumbrian Commentator didn't seem to think so "Aizue gets knocked down again". However Makali could have bagged 3 and that commentator would still have spoke bad of him.

Yeah but that tool on Radio Cumbria and the twit that writes for the local rag are [ithe most[/i biased journos there are.

I thought he played really well today and if the pass had been better, following his burst down the middle it would have been the best play of the game

The pass to Bannister from his break was a shocker, good thing the game was already won by then. However it was a much improved performance from him. He actually looked to work in defence and took the ball up strongly. Still a long way to go before he resembles his former self mind you but the signs today were encouraging.

Forgot about that, but the break that created it was superb.

His best game in blue & white to date; keep up the improvement and prove the doubters wrong.
